Nice course, beer too pricey.
Overall, I liked this course but would not recommend for higher handicaps, too many houses along side of the fairways, I'm sure myself, girlfriend and son probably hit at least 7 houses, however I'm a 20 handicap and they're like a 40. We let at least 6 groups pass us. Also lots of brush for lost balls, high risk of running into a rattlesnake, which is understandable for Tucson, especially this time of year. We ran into one about 4' long along the cartpath, BEWARE!!
I felt beers were a bit pricey, 4 for $20. Only 1 bev cart running and serving 2 courses. Met up w her on hole #2 and didn't see her again until hole #17. Bought last round of beers at club house a little after 5 p.m,
bartender said she already closed but served us 1 more beer anyway. I would think that's a bit too early to close, especially with a few more hours of daylight left and golfers coming in after their round. We grabbed our beers and cruised the Canada course, I felt there were nicer views and much more open fairways at this course than the Conquistador course plus lots less room for bad shots and less houses to hit. Pro shop, bev cart and club house house personnel all super friendly! A++ to them!
Overlook
The restaurant there has the best location and views and yet it closed on Friday at 3pm. This place should be swamped with people to come eat and have a drink. It is terribly manage and wasted by city ownership.
What’s the issue with restaurant operations?
Great Value
My husband and I love this course and the sister course.
Staff was very friendly. Starter got us out on time. Course was challenging and it was in great shape. Will return
Nice Course!
I like this course a lot. Well laid out design and challenging. Pace of play was very good. Fairways are dry and quick and greens need some work and are fast. Overall, very good value for the money.
Conquistador
I was born and raised in The Old Pueblo and have golfed here since the 70’s. In my opinion this is probably the best golf for your value in Tucson. If you get a chance I would definitely chose El Conquistador.. You will be glad you did.
Need Coors beer
Why do all the courses around here have such crappy beer. And way too expensive! As slow as it plays here a guy should have a great beer to drink and more frequent visits from beverage cart
Beverage cart
The beverage cart person was fabulous but the drink selection availability was terrible and too high priced. Why can’t we get Coors family of beers , and at a decent price that would allow us to buy volumes of beers at a lower price. Your profit margin is way too high.
The course was in very good conditions and the greens were outstanding(best in the area) The traps could use a bit of work as some are lacking in sand depth and consistency. The tees and aprons were very good with a few minor exceptions.
Needs updating
Played years ago and returned in a long time. The course used to be kept better.
Canada round
Friendly staff. Challenging layout. Beautiful scenery. Decent conditions. Greens were a little slow. Fairways lush. Despite waiting on every hole round finished in 4 hours.
