River Marsh Golf Club - Hyatt Chesapeake Bay
About
The Hyatt River Marsh Golf Club is Maryland's leading Eastern Shore golf course. The classic design incorporates challenging elements including sculpted bunkers and mature trees but balances them with wide, player-friendly fairways and inviting greens. Water has a prominent presence on the course with Shoal Creek meandering through the course and the Choptank River serving as a backdrop to many of the greens. The riverside golf course has the look and feel of a seaside links course. The final two holes are the golf course's most memorable. The par-3 17th requires a dramatic carry over Shoal Creek to a large green strategically guarded by three bunkers. The 17th is a challenging and scenic hole but it only sets the scene for Hyatt River Marsh Golf Club's final hole. Touted as one of the best holes in the Mid-Atlantic region, this classic risk-reward par 5 has a bunker and the Choptank River running its entire length.

Par 3 17th Photo submitted by u528713553 on 11/30/2015
great course and very forgiving.
The course is in great shape and the tees are forgiving. Par three's are fair but challenging. Great challenge for all abilities and 17 and 18 are two of the best finishing holes I have played.
Resort course on the Choptank
We play here once or twice a year. Great place to play when you can get a deal or are on holiday. Relatively short from the reds. Except for #17 you
could play the whites for a bit more challenge. Huge greens. Large fairways. Always in good shape.
Beautiful but tough course
This is a must play course. And not too expensive. We really enjoyed.
Think before hitting
Always watch the yardage markers and get a course yardage layout book for a better round and scoring....it takes much of the thinking out of the course and more on proper distance and direction.
Country club style
Well developed course. Layout is well done and maintained. Good distance for amateurs.
enjoyed watching the deer
love the course but it had rained and was cart path only. very hot out that day and with it being cart path it kind of put a damper on the day. would like to play again when i could ride the course
Nice layout, Course is in great shape
The carts don't have a GPS so buy yardage book or download course.Depending on what tees you play there are some force carries. Sand traps are like Myrtle beach sand traps very white and soft. greens where in great shape and rolled true. they where soft so you could go at the pin, speed was moderate. Beers only $2:50 off the cart for domestic, wow unheard of at a resort course. The 19th offers a 25% discount for golfers on beer and food!! Worth the hour plus drive from Baltimore.
Needs Starter
There is no communication between the people who check you in and the person who sends you out. The original tee time through golf now was 11:31. No one at the desk said anything different when I checked in.. The guy sending out the carts said we were 11:40 and paired up with another twosome which was fine. We came back at 11:35 and no other two some was to be seen. He said they would meet us on the tenth tee (where we started), but again, no one was there. Very confusing.
Course was in good shape and very challenging. The greens need to be rolled every once in a while. Saw lots of deer.
Great staff!
Great staff and a beautiful but challenging course
Great course
I played this course on a hot deal from GolfNow and was very pleased with the value for money we spent. When we played, there must have been a major down pour the previous night, because the course played very soft. The views were spectacular on the 17th and 18th hole and overall the course was challanging but nothing to unbearable. Whether you live in the area or are down for vacation I would recommend playing this course.
Natures' Delight
Played River Marsh on a beautiful day following a few days of rain so the course played soft, especially the greens. However the greens were in excellent condition as was the rest of the course. There are a couple of funky holes . . . like No. 7 which is a short par 4, but unless you are in a very narrow landing spot you cannot see the green on your approach shot - large tall grass covered bunkers block your view of the green. Didn't have room to make a good hole so they tricked it up to make it play harder. Otherwise a fantastic layout!
Great Day
River Marsh was a great experience ... The greens rolled wonderfully but were too slow ... The rest of the course was in great condition . A good challenge for any golfer.
Great Hot Deal Value
Have played the course multiple times this year and it has been in great shape. Well maintained with smooth greens. Offers some challenges but never unfair. Great value with Hot Deals (Often 30-40 bucks). Highly recommend
Simply Awesome
I play a lot of golf up and down the Eastern Shore and it does not get much better than River Marsh!! The pace of play is amazing. They have a lot of different T-Boxes which makes it enjoyable if you are playing a few days in a row. The 17th and 18th are a golfer's paradise.
Nice resort course to play.
Fun resort style course. However, would definitely look for discounted rates.
great course at any price
The course was in superior condition. Staff(Chuck) and all others were welcoming and friendly. Good cart service. Golfnow rate was incredible .
Where is the friendly staff?
Club house staff and the beverage lady were the best experience and the most friendly staff all day. The starter, the the cart cleaner, and the staff person on the range never treated me with any sign of Hyatt hospitality. In addition, the starter placed me (a single) between two foursomes. Course was in overall good shape. Greens have some damaged areas. . Several of the tee boxes are also divot damaged. Practice areas are overall good
Championship Quality
River Marsh was one of the most enjoyable courses I've ever played. The greens were tremendous, and overall the course was spectacular. The 18th is a tough one, but a beautiful closing hole to be remembered.
Go play it when you have the chance - you can find good deals thru Golf Now Hot Deals or Deal Caddy.
well worth the drive
Wide fairways and large greens. Little water comes into play. Environmental areas to hit over. Nice views of the Choptank river.
Quality Golf Course
The course is in great mid-season shape. Played with two others in about 3.5 hours on a relatively mild weekend day. The greens rolled nicely and the course set-up was fair. A mid-handicapper, I enjoyed the layout and value.
