No mowing.
Fairways were like fist rough cut.
Anything off of fairways you could lose a ball.
Greens were slower that anything.
Take care of the weeds.
It’s mid-late April and, even in the fairway, you still have a 50% chance of playing off weeds.
Pace was good today but always slower on the back nine, this is where the Marshall needs to concentrate.

Slow pace
The group in front of us had 2 clear holes ahead of them on the back nine. They would not let us play through and we never saw “player assistance “ to assist.

Golf fan
First time playing this course. It is not a very difficult course. Most holes are straight forward. It is well maintained. I enjoyed playing this course. Very friendly staff.

Slow Pace and Unhelpful Marshall
Played the other day. We had a beginner player part of our group, but we still kept up pace of play. Group in front of us never saw the people playing ahead of them and were constantly hitting 3-4+ shots after the tee box(constantly topping the ball). Group ahead was over 250y ahead of us(confirmed on range finger(scope)). We let our beginner player hit first because he was not going to reach them, he hit a good shot a good 30 yards left and behind that group. They complained to the marshall that we hit into them. We told the marshall they were playing extremely slow and he just shut us down. If you have 5+ hours to play this is the place for you. The group also constantly would drag their feet on the green and when they walked off they sat in their cart right off the green and we couldn’t hit because we didn’t want them crying to the marshall again.

Nice Course Layout / Very Wet
Nice course w/ really nice surrounding propoerty. Only problem was course drainage. Had some decent rain about a week ago and most of the rough was still waterlogged and essentially mud. Fairways were well maintained though.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we have had a very wet Spring so far which causes our course to remain wet well after the rain stops. It's still early in the growing season too which is why it takes a little longer for the course to drain. We do hope that you come back and play the course again when it warms up and dries out. Not thinking of playing here again
This course isn’t in a good shape for the money they’re charging. The fairways are patchy. The tee boxes look like they aren’t completely fertilized. I don’t think I will play this course again.

We recently underwent aerification of tee boxes and greens during the week of 3/25. The greens and tees are sandy/bumpy during this time. This is also a transition period for our fairways as the Rye grass begins to fade and the Bermudagrass takes over. We hope you understand and we'd like to see you back again soon. Decent course, rude staff
I’ve played this course a few times but the staff working this day were all very rude. The man at the counter and the starter were unnecessarily demeaning. I’ve never had this issue coming here before. All the other marshalls on the course were fine and polite.
Course is decent. Long and straight, no hills. Rough is thick and difficult.

Check with pro shop before visiting.
I played at Algonkian couple of times and like the course structure, as well as the condition. But on the 25th of Mar, we had to play the front 9 twice despite it was clearly written 18holes in Golfnow. Also fairway grass was long, rough too long that I couldnt find my balls 2 times. It is a good course but dont visit before non season timing.
Thank you for your review. The reason why you had to play the same nine holes twice on March 25th was due to aerification of greens and tee boxes. The back nine was closed allowing for play only on the front nine. A notice was posted on our online tee time booking engine and the Algonkian GC app. We apologize for the inconvenience. It should take about 2-3 weeks to fully heal and we will begin regular fairway/rough mowing as the weather warms and the course dries. Needs a clean up
The course needs some TLC. Broken twigs in abundance that should be tended to.

Course was extremely wet which dictated cart path only protocol.

Course not busy
With golf course quite open that day, pace of play I enjoyed. The course still had holes being repaired but overall it was manageable and enjoyed the round.

Thank you for your review. During the Winter, the grass is dormant and does not grow under a certain temperature. Thus, when we receive rainy weather for extended periods of time, it takes much longer for the course to dry out as compared to when it's the warmer season. It can take several days or weeks to fully dry from heavy rains.
