Bridges Golf Course
About
Bridges Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole course that sits on the northeastern side of Madison, just south of the airport. It’s popular with locals since it’s both affordable and challenging. The layout starts out on low-lying wetlands and then on the back nine it climbs up a ridge along Anderson Avenue. For a championship golf course it’s not particularly long at 6,900 yards from the back tees, but golfers will still face several tricky holes. Players of all skill levels will enjoy Bridges Golf Course for its variety of risk-reward opportunities. It’s not terribly punishing though so beginners can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Bridges offers a practice facility that includes a driving range and two separate practice greens for chipping and putting.

Good challenge, but fair for ALL ABILITIES!
The Bridges is a pleasant course that wanders through a marshy area. Most of the holes are lines with wetlands, while the fairways are reasonably wide, there is always the possibility of wild shots becoming lost balls. Keep it in play and you will be rewarded. The wide variety of tee boxes allow for everyone to enjoy this course. I lost the use of both my hands 5 yrs. ago and play in a very creative way. With little distance, I rely on accuracy playing from the red [forward] tees. I shot 43-47 and had a great time. Excellent open faced hot beef sandwich afterwards!
This is a very nice course.
I will definately be back. Everything was top notch.
Bring lots of balls
Challenging layout, easy to loose a few balls! Greens in good shape.
Fun Course
I always enjoy golfing at the Bridges!
Great course for Discount price!
The fairways and greens were in good shape. The course is fairly private from the holes around it. Some holes were tree lined and others were out in the open. Many holes have borders with tall fescue grasses. Water comes into play on 10 holes. Mostly flat layout on the front-nine, although three tough holes on the back nine offer elevation change, and a view of the local brewery and beer garden. Good value golfing for the reasonable price.
Normal Bridges
Real simple the course isn't well maintained by the players or the crew so it isn't as fun to play as other area courses. GolfNow slapping a $5 fee on each golfer made a HotDeal into no deal also.
I like the layout, but course needs maintenance.
I try to play here at least once per year. I have not been here in a couple of years, and yes, it is April in Wisconsin, but the course was in pretty bad shape. Tee boxes were ragged and uneven, fairways were clumpy, and the greens were shaggy, uneven, and inconsistent. It seemed like it hadn't been mowed in days. Pace of play was horrendous: We made the turn in 3 hours, the back nine took 2:45. So, 5 hours 45 minutes of walking through a cow pasture. It is a great layout with lots of water and interesting holes. But they need to do some heavy duty maintenance.
variety of holes
course in good shape except the tee boxes
more care needed on tee boxes
needs help
The greens were bumpy roads because of aeration.
no sand in holes. They have been that way for some time. Dusty cart paths have been that way for years so you eat dust from the cart in front of you. New owner would be great to fix this course.
Nice course in Madison
The course was in very good condition although the greens were a little rough.
super deal
great deal through golf now. great course well maintaind. got there early did 18 in under 3 hrs.
Great value
The course is in great shape. Nice practice area, range, sand bunker, green. New charts. Super value.
Nice golf course
Fairways and greens were in good shape. There were a few spots where you could teller water collects and grass had died. Greens were a little on the slow side. Cart paths are gravel, so if following another cart, you eat a little dust.
Very Challenging Track
This course was very tight with no room for slicers or hookers. There was trouble on all sides of each fairway and you needed to be a straight hitter. The greens were in excellent condition and putted wonderfully. I would recommend this to others as a great course to play. You thought you were the only player on the course, all holes were secluded. Great place to play.
Great course, pretty tough
I'm not the straightest hitter and this course is surrounded by thick brush, keep it in play and it's very fun, if not you're going to lose a lot of balls. Nice fairways tee boxes and greens though one of the par 3s has construction going on. Very nice.
Great Deal
My friends and I had a great day at Bridges. The course was challenging for each of us in different ways. There were plenty of opportunities for the big hitter and the touch golfer.
Great golf for those looking to maximize their utility
While the course is close to the airport and main roads, Bridges makes up for that with a well-cared for course and an even better price. A few challenging holes paired with tall weeds make for a fun course that rewards you greatly if you can keep drives moderately on target. Bring the mosquito repellent!
Great Value
The course has a fun layout and multiple tees for different skill levels. The course is very well maintained and very green early in the year. Bunkers are the one downfall of this course as they aren't very good. Other than that the course is very fun to play.
Lots of Water and Marsh here.
Had this Course pegged for this year with my golf buddy who's also a Dave like me. I Am 48, and Dave's 27. We are 10 HDC's Literally, We played the Blues at little over 6,800 Yards, How ironic, As the Blues at The Bull In Sheboygan are The same yardage. He Holed out with a 81, and I an 82. This course is a course management course to me, Is Pretty flat for the most part. A couple elevation changes holes, like 13 And 15 I believe give you a different look. But this course makes you play straight. If you don't bring around two dozen balls, because if you go out of play consider your ball lost literally. We both thought this course layout was awesome. YOU will see tons of planes from Madison Airport fly right over you all day here. We found the conditions to be very pleasant here. Nice 2 cut fairways, and the greens surprised me, in nice shape average roll to them, and fairly large size. And YOU will see why they call this he Bridges, Yes so many to cross all round long. We got out early on A Sunday around 8:30am just a two sum, and motored around it at very pleasant pace. Again bring your straight game here or you will be scoring in triple digits. We both lost just 2 balls, this is no Links course my fellow golfers. Tons of water and thick brush and marsh line almost 95 % of this course. We had a great round and enjoyed the Bridges. Thumbs Up from both of us.
First Time Out for 2015
It was great swinging the clubs, of course. But the ground was literally oozing water and mud...to be expected as the ground is thawing out. Not having any ball washers out was a bummer...greens were pretty slow but I know things will improve as the sun starts warming things up!
All of the airplanes flying overhead (next to an airport), brought to mind visions of Harrison Ford crash landing...maybe that's why I kept picking up my head?
