Bridges Golf Course
About
Bridges Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole course that sits on the northeastern side of Madison, just south of the airport. It’s popular with locals since it’s both affordable and challenging. The layout starts out on low-lying wetlands and then on the back nine it climbs up a ridge along Anderson Avenue. For a championship golf course it’s not particularly long at 6,900 yards from the back tees, but golfers will still face several tricky holes. Players of all skill levels will enjoy Bridges Golf Course for its variety of risk-reward opportunities. It’s not terribly punishing though so beginners can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Bridges offers a practice facility that includes a driving range and two separate practice greens for chipping and putting.

The sourse is is beautiful and challenging.
The course in nice, however, due to a wet season there are some trouble areas. The staff, though, were apathetic and pushing towards rude. I cannot believe the current management will be able to keep it a premier Madison course without the help of a better more serving staff....
Fairways were in horrible shape
I have played the Bridges quite a few times and never seen it like this. Every fairway had significant winter kill that still has not been addressed. The 15th fairway is tilled for the last 150yds and not playable at all. Greens were in decent shape. I got a hot deal for $28 and still felt a bit ripped off in the end.
Got a great rate from Golfnow.com
Course was under repair in some places. Water damaged in others. The course layout can be very challenging if you are not straight.
Great value!
Great value! We were blessed with a beautiful morning, and can't beat the price!
It is a good use of some bad land and that means stay in the fairway, spraying them left or right can cost you on many holes!
Hit them straight and you stay out of trouble! Has a tee box for all levels.
This course was one where every club in my bag was used :)
I saw a course in very good shape and the pin placements were very difficult, tucked behind a sand bunker on two thirds of the 18 holes. Very few other golfers because the temperature was less than ideal 51 degrees and cloudy with wind ranging from 15-25 mph. Just a personal note, i scored a 1 (hole in one) on # 12 with an 8 iron !!! My first after playing golf for 42 plus years. A most enjoyable golf experience :)
Always a challenge
We got a good deal through GolfNow, but regardless this course always charges very fair prices. Other than the 9th hole blue tee box the course is in great shape. The greens still had aireation holes but they caused little issue. From the blue tees this course is a decent challenge, and there are plenty of holes you must work the tee shot from left to right or right to left. Then the Ale Asylum is right next door for a great sandwich afterwards. The course also has a great bar/dining area.
Good course for the money.
I like the varied hole designs and elevation changes. it is challenging and you can loose a lot of balls if you are not careful.
Great location
The course is kept up well. Air traffic maybe a turn off for some golfers. The location is great if you live or work downtown or eastside.
While not a long course, it has some tight spots.
I played the course after two days of fairly constant rain. There were a few wet spots but they were expected. Nice updated carts. No GPS on carts. Good variety of types of holes.
Just a heads up, that wasn't winter kill. All the dead grass was from flooding from the massive rainage we had at the end of June.
I had gone there in the beginning of july and there were actually dead fish on the fairways in some spots. Not much they could really do about the weather.
