About
Bridges Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole course that sits on the northeastern side of Madison, just south of the airport. It’s popular with locals since it’s both affordable and challenging. The layout starts out on low-lying wetlands and then on the back nine it climbs up a ridge along Anderson Avenue. For a championship golf course it’s not particularly long at 6,900 yards from the back tees, but golfers will still face several tricky holes. Players of all skill levels will enjoy Bridges Golf Course for its variety of risk-reward opportunities. It’s not terribly punishing though so beginners can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Bridges offers a practice facility that includes a driving range and two separate practice greens for chipping and putting.

Grounds crew needed
I’ve played Bridges many times in recent years. It’s the closest course to my home and is barely a 5 minute drive away.
The beverage cart ladies were friendly and were available nearly every other hole. This was appreciated on a very hot day.
The course is challenging. My handicap floats between 8-10 during the season. If the management could do a better job on the course conditions I’d play there more. Tee boxes look like rototillers are tested and bunkers are hard packed dirt that could double as a little league infield. Seed-sand should be at the tee boxes and on the carts. There’s none to be had.
For what they charge you get better value at Door Creek, Six Mile or the Oaks. Even Yahara and Monona are in better condition and a much better value.
Golf + Air Show
As a single , I joined 2 retired MD’s, outstanding gentlemen . Enjoyed F35 fighter planes overhead.

Best shape
The course was in excellent playing condition from the tee boxes all the way to the greens. Greens were perfect.
Family time
Cool course with the airport near bye. Helicopters were flying over on several holes.
Course was a little wet due to all the rain. Could have been a little drier.
Great value
I like the bridges. Good mix of long and short holes, staff is friendly and it's always in pretty decent shape for how much it's played.
Good city course
I like that the fairways are usually not too close together so when I rip a fat slice, it just safely goes into the woods
Golf in February
The course was in February conditions, what do you expect. Overall if I’m golfing in February I’m happy no matter what. Becky checked me in and was super friendly and accommodating.

This is a fun course and you are right next to a airport who knows what you will see
Bridges GC review
Average length course near Madison airport. Nice layout, a little noisy due to air traffic.
