Bridges Golf Course

        About
Bridges Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole course that sits on the northeastern side of Madison, just south of the airport. It’s popular with locals since it’s both affordable and challenging. The layout starts out on low-lying wetlands and then on the back nine it climbs up a ridge along Anderson Avenue. For a championship golf course it’s not particularly long at 6,900 yards from the back tees, but golfers will still face several tricky holes. Players of all skill levels will enjoy Bridges Golf Course for its variety of risk-reward opportunities. It’s not terribly punishing though so beginners can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Bridges offers a practice facility that includes a driving range and two separate practice greens for chipping and putting.

Did not let me cancel
I wanted to cancel, but was unable to. The service here is really poor.
Poor customer service
There was no friendly greeting: The only thank you I received was from the guy cleaning carts after the round. Pro shop attendant could have cared less if we were there or not. Cart girl had no personality.
It’s sad because the course is in pretty good shape. Priced fairly.
Great time
The course was beautiful grass was well cut and greens in good condition cart and beverage people were subpar on front nine back nine was great friendly person bar staff and clubhouse or five Out of ten.
Good Challenging course
Course was in good condition considering 3 days of rain, found it very challenging a great value.
Over-priced Average Course
This course can be surprisingly challenging with multiple creeks passing through 1/3 of the holes and two others with steep elevation changes. Other than that, the course feels far from interesting or exciting. Unless you plan on walking, don’t even think about going. They charge you nearly as much to ride in a cart as they do to play your round. In all honestly, I’d much rather play Madison’s city courses.
Bring a lot of balls
I’m an average player who shoots around 100 per round. Even I didn’t bring enough balls. Narrow chewed up fairways and no forgiveness to either side makes most holes a challenge. I personally think it’s not worth the money unless you get a deal. Good luck!
Decent Course
Greens were super soft and rolled pretty true. 1 or 2 greens had a few bare spots but overall they were probably a 9 out of 10. A previous reviewer said the fairways were tight and he was right. If you take the ball too far left or right on most holes, the ball is gone - there is no chipping out and taking your medicine. The course layout was nice and all par 3 were easily reachable. The driving range is definitely worn and sub-standard. Drink cart came around probably 6 or 7 times in 18 holes. Completed the round in just over 3 hours.
Ok but nothing special
Pace of play was rough. Saw plenty of people playing from 2 or 3 tees back from where they should have been. Then searching for balls on every hole. Tight course, good tee shots required. Greens were very good. Decent course, but not sure if I will be back.
Good for everyone
I've golfed The Bridges many times. I always leave with the same feeling. Some fairways are narrow, so you better hit an accurate tee shot (I put my driver away on those holes). A few holes have some good character - elevation changes, dog legs, etc.
Beware of weather. If it has rained recently, a few fairways can be wet (more than most courses, but I've played worse).
Being next to the airport is a bonus if you enjoy watching planes flying overhead taking off, and landing. It's a treat when they scramble the jets.
