Challenging Links-Style Layout with Fast Greens
I've played the Highlands course several times. The layout is great, a links-style oasis with consistently fast greens, well conditioned grounds and friendly, knowledgeable staff. This course is challenging for players of all skill levels; I highly recommend it.
well worth the price we paid
this place was in great shap and was worth the price we paid from golf now. I would pay up to 75 on weekends to play this place it was well worth the price.
beautifully landscaped and format
Each hole is unique with individual challenges. scenery is delightful making the round enjoyable. pro shop staff could be friendlier, act as we are doing them a favor by playing there.
One of the best muni's in illinois
Course is usually always in great shape. It is challenging, many elevation changes. Some holes have long carries for risk reward. All par 3's are a challenge with varied length. It is a links style course mostly. I cannot recommend it enough.
Great Sunday
Played this course Sunday as a foursome and could not have been happier. My group hit heavy traffic on our way out to Elgin due to an accident, and we were 45 minutes late to our tee time. The staff was very friendly about it (especially since the course was packed) and allowed us to tee off when we got there instead of cancelling us or making us push back a few hours. The course was beautiful and the conditions were very well maintained. Will definitely be playing here again.
