Camas Meadows Golf Club
About
Camas Meadows Golf Club is routed through the forested wetlands that surround Lacamas Lake, providing beautiful scenery and plenty of natural hazards. It feels secluded but the club is conveniently just a short drive from Portland International Airport. The challenging track is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Portland metro area. The layout features narrow and winding fairways lined with mature trees and over 50 crushed white sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout. Water also comes into play on almost every hole. Some holes offer a risk-reward setup but most require a smart and careful approach as well as solid execution. At just over 6,500 yards, the course is somewhat short for a championship layout but no less challenging. It is a good compromise for casual golfers who still want to play a high quality round of golf.

Reviews
Spectacular sunny views late in the day
Beautiful day on a scenic layout. Pin placements were a bit tough for a Sunday crowd. Food is excellent. Too bad it's so difficult to walk with long treks between greens and tees.
Great course
Great course. Play was slow but it was Sunday. Sunny weather but course still had some wet spots. A cart is a must. Not a walking friendly course. Green to tee can be a hike. No problem if you have a cart though. Some bunkers are excellent while others are horrible. Overall a good day.
SW Washingtons best course
Very limited fairway driving with carts, but not a huge hit against this beautiful course. Would like a little more variety on the menu besides a choice of two different sandwiches or a German dog on the spin. Beers are $4 for domestics from the cart. I think $2-$3 would be a little more reasonable or 3 for $10. Again not a show stopper.
Take a Cart!!
This is a excellent, challenging course that will test your ability to hit fairway shots off the tee. They have three different tee blocks for all different abilities. There are about four holes made for birdies mixed in along the way to keep your score even on some of the more difficult holes. Make sure to take a cart or you will be sorry!! The course is very spread out, and besides, all of the carts come with GPS which is very helpful. Happy hunting!
Hip Boots required
After a 2 hour frost delay that occurred early in the morning me got stared at 11:50 from our original tee time of 10:45. Round took 5 hours to the number. Groups in front were very slow slow slow.! The CM course is very wet, even the fairways almost required knee highs. Very poor drainage. Sanded greens and no warning they were in such condition. Breaks and speed could not be relied on. I did not have much of a problem with the tightness of the tree and marsh lined course but it can be a problem and was for the other gentleman in our foursome.
Fairly long forced carries from the short tees can be a an issue for short hitters from the front tees.
Nice club house with a good bar and friendly staff on our day. Usable driving range
I could play there again but "we" will not be going back. Long walk if you plan to walk, but I recommend a cart due to the long hikes green to next tee ( real long). My guess is walking would be around 9 miles.
Overall , not overly impressed. A nice spring day though.
Nice course-looking forward to playing when it is dry
The area here has had inches of rain, so the course was wet, but in very nice shape. We are new to the area and looking for a home course, this might be it. It is a challenge, but fun and should be very pretty in the Spring and Summer months. A lot of elevation, water everywhere, so hit straight. They have an annual pass, nice club house, helpful friendly staff.
Camas Meadows is a must-play!
I have played Camas many times over the past 10 years and it continues to be one of my top 10 courses. At 6,100 yards from the blues it is not overly long, but the various features (tight fairways, trees, wetlands, ponds, and more trees!) make it quite challenging for me, a 10 handicap. I played in the winter, which is iffy at best here in the Pacific Northwest, so the course was wet but the greens were perfect as usual; consistent, rolled true, held well struck shots, and QUICK! It was a very enjoyable day all around and I highly recommend Camas as a place to play.
Golf Now App
Course is overpriced l, but there are great deals that you can find to make it a lot more affordable.
I paid $21 plus tax for 18 + cart on a Saturday.
Regular price was over double that.
One of the best courses in the area.
Our foursome played a terrific course on a beautiful day and at a good price.
Beautiful, Carts with awesome GPS!
Love this course. It is LONG - between holes. Layed out gorgeously, interesting holes, good use of water, trees, sand...very rough rough though - take a few extra balls unless you shoot really straight! Greens were tough...it was a beautiful December day, but had to wait for frost delay. Still, pace was good and play was wonderful for winter!
Its a beautiful course
course was in sloppy condition due to the weather , not a good winter course to play , I am sorry I booked it , we ended up only playing 9 holes what a waste of money , wished I would have booked a tee time at Elkridge golf course in Carson its a great winter course + I wont be playing at Camas Meadows anytime soon .
Beautiful and Challenging course
This is one of the better courses we have played in the Portland/Vancouver Metro areas. It is kept up very well. The bunkers were probably the only thing that could use some attention. Hole one had really nice sand, but after that the bunkers were hard sand and needed to be played more like a regular chip shot. The greens were surprisingly fast for being fall and well groomed. Not a lot of leaves or debris anywhere. The staff was very nice to us and we were paired up with a couple of guys that had played the course more often.
The best course in the area
Camas meadows is the most beautiful, challenging course in SW Washington! The scenery, the layout, playing through some of the most beautiful homes in Vancouver, and enjoying the clubhouse afterwards. A great experience.
Great Weather, course in very good shape, good challenge.
Friendly accomodating staff, very good golf course, fun to play and challenging.
Great deal with excellent course condition
Great deal with excellent course condition and challenge yourself either blue or gold tee or easy ride with white or red tee. Awesome weather and beautiful golf course scene.
Always fun to play
I usually play this course just a couple of times a year and it's always enjoyable. The staff is friendly and the course is well maintained.
Packed too tight
It's fall. Lots of leaves on the ground. People looking for their ball way more than usual. Add only a 10 minute gap between tee times and cart-path only, and you have a the recipe for a five hour round. Greens plugged at least two weeks ago and still pock-marked. They need to be rolled badly.
No Airate Alert and poor job of maintaining a playable course.
Went to play this course for the first time only to find that they had plugged and sanded the greens two days prior without posting any type of notice. The greens had so much sand on them that they were simply unplayable. Obviously not what I or the gentlemen I was paired with were expecting from a supposedly higher end course. Big disappointment and really feel as though I was taken advantage of on this one.
Beautiful, well maintained golf course.
Played on a Tuesday after what must have been a few days of rain so the course was a bit soggy, but still fun. Unfortunately, I don't live close by, but if I did this course would be one I'd play often. Great layout and very friendy staff.
Great course, great value.
This is one of the best golf course that I have played in OR and WA. I would say it is very close to Pumpkin Ridge and The reserve. I had very good time. I will come back for sure.
