Great course
I love the first 11 holes, the last 7 are good but really hilly and I'm thinking some may find them too tricky.
A fun layout
It was my third time playing The Summit. The weather conditions were a little cool, and quite windy. The course conditions were great. A little damp in some lower areas, but overall the course is in good shape. The greens were quick and rolled well. The outside 9 are fairly straight forward with a few good chances to go at the pin, but the inside 9 get tricky with a few blind shots so playing the safe shot is the best way manage.
I got a great rate on Golfnow, so this course is definitely worth the short drive out of the Twin Cities.
Great value!
Make no doubt about it, this is a challenging course. The front and back nines are very different from each other. The front is flat and very walkable. The back has severe elevation changes. The course conditions have improved greatly over the last few years and this course has really matured into its challenging layout.
Great challenging course
Been here two dozen times. Very humbling course. If your not playing good after 11 holes, head to your car, 'cause you're about to break some clubs. Im a decent golfer and I've parred 15 one time in 2 dozen attempts. Can't stop going back though. I hate myself. Go later in the afternoon and the course is all yours. Love it. Good luck.
Excellent shape!
The greenskeeping here is on par with some of the upscale resort courses up north. The course itself is good but flawed. Holes 15 and 17 are downright ridiculous. But still I always enjoy coming here and I try to make it here at least a few times a year. I always try to walk it too to give myself some challenge.
ONE-OF-A-KIND back nine
I'll echo every other review on this page. The back nine provides a uniquely challenging experience. Insane elevation changes on a handful of tee shots, plus tight corners and difficult pin placements. Loved it.
Elevated Tees on Back 9
My husband and I enjoy this course. Good mix between the front and back 9. We enjoy the back 9 a little more with the views and elevated tees. Pace was great, especially with it being a holiday weekend. Highly recommend it. We always stop at Muddy Waters in Prescott on our way back to the cities. Good food, drinks and patio.
Fun Course
A lot of fun. We got a good deal booking online with Golf Now.
Beautiful course. Fun to play.
The Summit
The course is ok with nice fairways and greens. The back 9 gets a little gimmicky on a few holes. Good course to play once or twice a year with goo senior rate.

We know the back nine can be a little tricky! Look for a GPS cheat sheet in the coming months to help out with the more challenging holes!

Still Awesome
This is the fourth year in a row I have played this course as I visit my family while I live in Florida. I love the course and the folks that work here are great. The course is challenging especially if you dont find the fairway. I was amazed that the course was not busier on a saturday. What a great place!

Love to read this! Look forward to seeing you next year!

Excellent Course - Will play again
The course was in excellent shape. The greens were fast but not crazy. Loved the elevation changes and the scenery. As a first time player I could figure out where to hit it by just playing smart. Played as a single and was able to get around the front 9 in 1.5 hours (even with a bit of waiting) The back 9 was slower and I was waiting on every hole, but still completed the 9 in 2 hours. Would definitely recommend playing

Playing it smart is the way to go! Apologize about the slower pace of play on the back 9 (people tend to lose a ball or two). We'd love to see you again!

Great to get back there...
It had been probably ten years since I last played there. For an April round the greens were excellent and the fairway quite good. You will want to play with a little course management in mind, especially on the back nine. Fun, scenic and challenging track, I definitely recommend this one!

Glad you found your way back to us! Excellent feedback about course management!
Thank you,

Nice, interesting course! Back is very scenic, a little tricked up on some holes. All in all, well worth the money!!!

Appreciate the feedback! We know the back 9 can be tricky, look for a GPS cheat sheet in the coming months!

the greens run true
The Summit is a awesome course to bring your buddies to have a challenging game and also a great time.
Worth the drive from the Twin Cities- nice layout and challenging holes-friendly staff
Caught a great spring day and a GolfNow rate of $20 with cart. I had played this course once before about 18 months prior and its a rather new entry in the Cannon Falls Hastings area. Front is open and pretty forgiving while the back 9 has more hills and elevated tee boxes and narrower fairways. Staff was very friendly. I'll be back!
My favorite southern course
This is a great course overall, especially for the cost. Major elevation changes, greens free of divots and flat elevated tee boxes. Beautiful scenery and an extremely friendly staff. I play here a few times every year.
Great October Day
It was 80 degrees on October 11th. It was a great way to end the golf season. The Summit was in excellent shape and the greens were very good but tricky, hard to read some of the sloppier ones. I would recommend this course. The landing areas on most fairways are generous making it enjoyable to play.
tale of 2 nines
The first 11 holes are quite accessible with a mostly wide open layout then from 12 on it gets tight and challenging but still quite fair. I really liked the back nine. The front nine, not so much. Good greens and nice fairways. Teeny tiny club house.
bring your A game
Good test of golf. Fair but tough. Good condition friendly staff. I would recommend this course for above average players.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! And thanks for the insight on Muddy Waters, people are always asking for a good place to stop!
