Broad Run Golfer's Club

Top notch maintenance of this course. Friendly staff. Backdrop is insane! This course has everything that you could ask for, wide open uphill and down hill par 5s, water and 100 yard down hill par 3s and everything in-between. Elevation change and hills along the rough make it challenging. Bunkers were soft sand. Again, backdrop is worth every penny!

This was my first time at Broad Run. Bag drop was super nice, the guy with the cool beard in the pro shop was cool. Ranger was cool and so was the cart girl. Pace of play was great and course was actually a bit challenging. Loved it though.

The golf course was nice, and greens were in good condition. I needed to rent clubs, since I travelled across country for a short family visit. The clubs were in such bad shape, that I don't believe a secondhand store would offer them for sale. A club with their reputation should never offer such poor-quality set and charge for it. The driver I was first offered had no grip. I sincerely hope someone in a position to make some changes should look into it and actually do something to make it right. My experience playing this course could have been much better.

I will be upfront, the weather was not great, but there were some other issues that stuck out. Particularly the staff. Chris was somewhat unfriendly and lacking personality. I thought the layout was pretty cool. The course sits on a large piece of property, and has some really cool features. I wouldn't pay $70 plus to play it again. I've played better courses for cheaper. The greens were just slightly above average. Like I said earlier, I'm sure the course is in better shape when the weather is better. Seems like the course doesn't hold water very well. Overall I would give it 7 out of 10

Nice course layout, challenging but fair. Nice pace of play

I had forgotten how funky the first three holes are. The course was in very good shape and pace of play was excellent for an afternoon tee time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only other thing I didn’t like was they have large portions of fairways that are restricted for carts. That won’t bother some people, but I have limits on how much I can walk.

Overall, an enjoyable place to play.

Started at 8am and the round took 5 hours. Way too many people out on the course even that early.

Rees Jones designed this course and you can tell someone with a strong blood line of designing famous courses around the world designed this course. There are no “boring holes” where they run parallel to the hole before and mimic each other. This course utilizes the natural landscape incredibly and the elevation changes and vistas are phenomenal. Each hole mandates the player to formulate a game plan, as there are very specific landing zones. When you miss there is punishment in thick grass and/or awkward stances. The bunkers were recently refreshed with fresh white sand and present a fair penalty for errant approach shots. The only downside of this course is the expense. But while it is more expensive, you do get what you pay for here. This is personally a local favorite of mine and I return as often as I can.

Overall, Broad Run is a good course with some unique challenges. As of 6/17, the course was in great shape. The course has the reputation of playing slow. We had to wait on numerous holes and our round took 4:45. I've heard rounds of more than 5 hours on the weekends.

I'd like to see the Ranger "push" slow playing groups to improve the pace of play.
