Mixed views
First I would like to say that I really like a lot of things about this course. It has a great layout, and very good greens. Its one failing is poor course drainage. When we get a rain of any significance, the fairways will stay wet for days making the course cart path only. So in addition to a lot of walking, many times you hitting off muddy ground.
If they could remedy this, it would be a fantastic golf course.
Great greens
Loved everything thing about the course except a few holes were cart path only and most of the ball cleaners did not have water in them.
Difficult winter conditions
Day after a major rain and poor winter conditions. Beautiful course. Can’t wait to play in spring once grass is out.
Superb
Fun affordable course in good condition, fairways were a bit soggy in places but greens were great! Beautiful course. Will definitely play again 👍🏼
Great experience
From the time I got out of my car until leaving everything was top notch. The winter golf at this course was amazing… the course was beautiful and the greens… my goodness the greens were amazing. I was paired with some locals and I had an awesome time with them and their course knowledge. The scenery was great as well. Will be back!
Greens are in good shape
Greens are in good shape and pretty fast. Overall condition is good for this time of year and the weather we have had recently. Really challenging and I felt it's been too long since I have played here. really recommend if you haven't been in a while like, me.
Bucket list
My husband and I have a bucket list to play golf in every state. Ballantrae was Alabama. The people were wonderful and the course was such fun.
Great Course
This is a premium course to play, and I had been looking forward to play at. The greens and fairways were in great condition. The pro shop and entire staff is amazing and provided great customer service.
A top course in the area
This is a top course in the Birmingham area. Great layout and the greens are usually near perfect. An occasional ranger presence would benefit, especially when pace of play can slow down on back 9. Other than that, this course is one of my favorites.
Course was in good condition for the end of November- many different tees to choose from - I was a single player teamed up with a local group- very friendly- I enjoyed the course layout

Did not have an issues until back 9 traffic jam. Course and people were great.
