Twisted Dune Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Twisted Dune Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. Located right on the Jersey Shore, Twisted Dune Golf Club is popular for it's beautiful views and challenging game. The deep ravines and grassy hills provide picturesque scenery and they also create interesting hazards for a good game.
Twisted Dune Golf Club lives up to his name with its twisting links-style layout, elevation changes, and rolling fairways. The golf course has par-5 holes that stretch over 500 yards as well as several par-4's and par-3's. The course also has wide fairways and large greens of bent grass.

Bunker madness
Take a set of clubs you don't care about. Bunkers are filled with stones. I put a big chip in a new Cleveland sand wedge. Not happy! Greens are shaggy and covered with little rocks.
The Dunes
The day we played it had rained heavily all morning. The course was very soggy. But it was a terrific outing! What a great course to play in any condition. You could almost hear the bagpipes playing.
Pace of play was atrrocious
The course was fun to play and challenging but it was over a 5hr round as they didn’t have any rangers out on the course. That needs to be fixed to give a higher ranking.
Move along. Try Ballamor
This place has really gone downhill. Bunkers were atrocious- no sand and full of rocks. When I mentioned the bunkers to the guys after the round, one of them said “Oh, you mean the place you’re supposed to stay out of?”
5+ hour round, overpriced. Never again. Not competitive with the many great shore courses.
my favorite
this course is my favorite because its fun to play but not just that the entire staff makes your day better regardless of how you played starting with Jim the general manager who takes as good of care of his guests as he does the course, when arriving the friendly, welcoming faces of Damen, Erick , and others when you arrive and when you leave, there is Melissa who does everything she can to be helpful along with others in the pro shop and Chris on the range as well as other starters to make sure your round is going smoothly. a big thank you to all the staff who treats all as VIP"s
Beauty
This course was terrific. This links inspired course was super unique being on the east coast. Views on the course were absolutely beautiful. As for layout, maintenance, and pace…not much to complain about. The course was very getable with lots of straightaway shots, hit fairways and you’ll be rewarded. The course/greens seemed a bit dried out but for a hot June day it was reasonable. Pace wasn’t the best but I’ve certainly seen worse and when the views are nice are they were I didn’t mind taking a minute to canvas the area. Staff was phenomenal in their service and I’d recommend this course to anyone!
Dune Gem
Twisted dunes is an exceptional tract. The layout is challenging . Greens are fair. There is an appropriate mix of wide open long par 4 and 5’s and “target golf” shorter yardage holes requiring relative precision .
The staff are enormously hospitable .
The cart paths could be better.but the rustic nature of their
“ twisted” pathways is unique.
I will always return
Twisted Dunes
Have played this course many times in past years. This was the worst summer shape I’ve seen. Erratic greens, very thin fairway grass. Course has great bones, but poor shape detracted. Also, place of play has always been a problem at this course, and nothing has changed in this regard.
Change of Link course
Enjoyed the round. Pace
Was okay due to the fact we were told by the Starter that normal round is 4 1/2 hours. We were a 2some so they painted us with 2 others. They were younger and hit from the white tees we moved to the Gold. Finished right on time. A little more work on Fairways and need more attention to the knees. Lack of sand and puddles in the bunkers should not have been there. It was 11:30 tee time grounds keepers should have raked and empty the water out by then. Would go again just to see if conditions are better.
Meh
It’s a nice course and well kept. The ranger will annoy you about your pace of play also. The course is just difficult for the sake of being difficult. Fairway or bust. If you’re a higher handicap player just prepare to lose a box of balls.
Play It Again!
Staff very friendly and welcoming. Starter was very helpful regarding the course and proper tees. Course was in excellent shape- and a wonderful test on a windy day- it felt a bit like Scotland. I found out on the first nine that the course would not be bullied- the second nine I was much more careful and scored a lot better. Compliment the course architect for giving me lots of runup in front of the green to play low shots. Plus, the lack of rough close to the green had me putting from several yards off the green.
One really needs to play this course once to understand the layout- I want to play it again!
