Course Conditions
The course is currently in the worst condition of any course I've played in the last 10 years. The greens were unplayable -- basically, they were dead. Hole 7 had a temporary green, which was even worse than the rest of them. Hole 9 had mounds of dirt all around it -- they were digging out the lake and throwing the dirt around the green, making access almost impossible.
In its current condition, I wouldn't recommend this course at any price.
Great bones, needs a lot of work
I have played this course several times over the past few years and it has slowly gone downhill. The layout of the course is phenomenal and it is in a quiet setting. Besides just a couple of greens the rest of them were almost unplayable. There were huge patches of dirt so I felt like it was planko on some of the putts. I was told it was because of the wet winter but having played about 15 other courses in the area I haven't seen any of the other ones have issues. I got a good deal on the price and I am glad I did because I would have been disappointed paying full price. They do have a great tap selection for after your round and the employees are friendly, it is just a shame that such as great course has fallen so far.
Great course but greens in rough shape
I love this course but the greens were in aweful shape. They lost quite a bit of greens due to frost (or so I was told by greens keepers) and the putting surfaces are a long way from recovering. Although the greens keepers were trying to do thier best. I will not play it again until late summer, hopeful they'll get them back. BTW, a note in advance about the greens would have been nice.
Done for the year
Played this course 20+ times. This will not rebound for the entire summer. 4 of 18 greens were playable. No sign of maintenance that will help these Greens moving forward. Bar and cart staff were the only highlight of the day.
Called beforehand to check playability. Pro shop informed 1 temp green... safe to say all but 4 were ok...
Pretty sad. Normally a fun layout and great views.
One of my favorite courses
The greens are in dire need of repairs, but an alert was on the website so we knew going in that something was up with them. We got a very good price with cart. Not including the greens, the course was in great shape. Always a challenge if you don't stay in middle of fairway. I love Druids Glen. One of my favorite courses in Washington.
Temporary Greens
The course has a great layout and is normally a good place to play. I wouldn't recommend playing here until the greens are in good playing condition.
Winter Rules
I was disappointed in the conditions of the course. A lot of soggy wet areas requiring a lot of moving your ball to play. I didn't play well either and not just because of the conditions. I will be back.
Too wet to enjoy
I know it's been a tough winter with so much rain, but the course isn't playable currently. Plugged balls everywhere, and the fairways were like a soaked sponge. Save yourself the drive until Druids dries out.
Course is in bad shape
Due to horrible weather, the course is really beat up. Lakes have been drained for upgrades too. The course will return to its normal top level status once all the repairs are done. For now expect low green fees in return for beat up greens and drained ponds that are unsightly. Course is really wet, carts must remain on cart paths, expect to walk a lot to and from cart to make shots. But I still like this course for its challenging layout!
Rating based on today's play only, Normally would give this course a 4
Played Druid's Glen today. Given the terribly wet winter and spring, I expected the course to be wet and muddy which it certainly was. Paying only $15 for today's round, can't really complain too much. The course cannot control Mother Nature.
My bigger concern is the state of several greens . There were 5 or 6 temporary greens. Scuttlebutt tells me some are severely damaged and might not come back until well into the summer.
Druid's Glen is one of my favorite local courses and I will continue to play there. My advice is to check the conditions of the greens before you plunk down green fees. If the fees are similar to what I paid and it's a sunny day I say play.
Love this course but...
I love this course and it was just gorgeous yesterday. I see many improvements going on at this course, new tee box signs and sand containers on each hole and water hazards being repaired and cleaned out. The only problem I had yesterday would be the wet fairways and the greens. It was too swampy at many places...literally a huge puddle of water on 10th (could see my ball but didn't want to get it out of the pool of water and get my shoes fully immersed). It was difficult to play many of the shots without moving the ball out of the soft/wet fairways. There were only about 2-3 playable greens :( - I heard only 6 temporary but boy... will wait for hotter weather so things dry out a bit before I return. Overall, had a great time!
Very wet
I've played this course mainly in the summer or fall and it has always been in great shape. This round was very wet on the fairways. Most of the greens are in very bad shape because they are in the process of replanting. They had temp greens with a hole that was twice the size of a normal green. The staff is always great and the carts are in good condition. A $15 round with cart is hard to pass up on a nice day.
Close the course until the greens are fixed
I have played this course approximately half dozen times in the past couple years. I really like this track. The last time I played was end of last summer and the greens were overall in good shape, with some fungus issues obviously taking hold of the greens in certain spots. We got a good deal on this tee time, and I expected punched greens or similiar, what we got was much worse. 14/18 greens there was no actual grass or anything green, on the green. They were 100% covered in sand/soil/some seed mix. Putting was all done on sand over footprints. Baffled they are letting play go on while they have such an incredible issue. You would look at greens from 100-150 out, all fairways, rough, fringe all green, then you see the green and it looks like gray concrete with a flag in it. Really disappointing, close until this is fixed.
course condition was very bad.
i was not told that the greens were just punched and aerated last tuesdy and because it rained the past two days the greens were totally muddy.i had to quit after 2 holes. how i wish there was a warning.
Great Deal
I will be booking all of my tee times with Golfnow app. Very easy to use and the Hot Deal can't be beat.
yes i played there on monday 3-20-17 and was horrible, some is the weather but not all. avoid this place until may/june min
