Turtle Bay Resort - George Fazio Course

After rental clubs, riders fee, and tee time the value for this course was absolutely not worth it. The course is almost too easy, not challenging whatsoever. The scenery was nice but really nothing better than what we have in Orlando, for the price there is much better golf courses you can play at in Oahu. No cart at the course, I was a single playing behind a foursome and they never let me play through even though I was waiting on them. The conditions were great as expected when paying 150+

A must play if you are visiting on Oahu. The course is in great shape. If you haven't played on a Paspalum grass course you will be in for a surprise. The rough is very rough in this type of grass! Be warned. As much as possible stay in the fairway if you want to enjoy a good round. If not, at least you were warned. This is worse than the rye grass used on courses like Paiute in Las Vegas. A beautiful blend of nature and golf. It was in much better playing condition that the Palmer which we played earlier in the summer and slightly cheaper as well. This is a cant miss course to play.

Great course the fairways and the greens are well kept dream rolling greens and the pace of play is great there are a lot of sand traps guarding the greens and it could be clay if it rain

It’s clear the money here goes to the Palmer course. Greens were slow and bumpy and bunkers needed sand like a fish needs water. The course layout itself is not impressive. If I wasn’t told I was in Hawaii, I would think I was at my average muni in San Diego (not Torrey Pines). Very little interaction with the ocean as you just meander through rental properties and maintenance sheds. On the upside, the staff was very friendly and I enjoyed them. The course was just a disappointment.

A positive experience

I have played both the Palmer and Fazio courses at 10 times each. I have stopped playing the Fazio course because the bunkers are hard and packed. I've mentioned this to staff many times and all I here is yes we are aware of this and we are in the process of reviewing the course and making improvements. My family and I fly in from Texas and arrive at the rental house I call for tee times and find out no improvements have been made so I spend twice the money and play the palmer course. Someday maybe??

Overall a very pretty little course. I came on a random Thursday and it had been misting for the first part of the morning. As a result, I was able to golf alone with seeminingly the entire course to myself. However, this course definitely benefits those who tend to miss-hit now and then. Impossible to lose your ball for the most part because of how it’s constructed. Fairways are wide and pretty straightforward. However, the course is well-maintained and the oceanside holes are something to remember. Appropriately priced at $85.

I played the Fazio course early there was only one group ahead of mine and the pace of play was excellent. The fairways were excellent and the rough was fair it made you think about club selection if you ended up in the rough. The bunkers are playable not too much sand but they still allowed for getting the ball close to the hole if you played the proper shot. The greens were slow on putts but it was tough to have the ball stick on approach shots that was the toughest thing to adjust to . Overall this is a great course and the staff was very friendly and helpful

Every time we play here it’s a great experience! Staff is friendly, course is well laid out, and pace is great!! I especially like the fact the ocean view!! Outstanding round of golf!!!

More than I usually pay for golf but not a bad value considering the price for non residents in Hawaii. Good layout, not crowded at all, in good condition, and nice views of the ocean on some holes.

A little pricey for the Palmer course, their reason being PGA and big break tournaments played there, however the Fazio course was in just as good of shape and it’s more scenic with more ocean views. Also when you book on line they don’t tell you about the local high schools using the course which is in my opinion not right,while it’s fantastic turtle bay opens up for these fine youngsters, there should be some warning just like if they were punching the greens, we as consumers should be given all of the details before making our decision to book.

Decided to play this course vs. the Palmer course. Very pleased with the layout and beauty of the Fazio course within Turtle Bay. Will play this course again and also try Palmer in the future.

I wouldn't pay full price for the Fazio course but for $50 after same day play on the Palmer course well worth it. Strange design with numerous holes on the front nine having a large bunker fronting the green, limiting options. Also sand is really waste areas with rocks and no sand. Avoid the bunkers at all costs. I am glad Tom Fazio didn't learn too much from George. Tom's resort courses are the best. George, not so much.

The course was uncrowded, in nice condition, but very windy. Wind is almost always a golfers nemises on the North Shore. I played alone for most of the round and was never waiting to tee off. I enjoyed the round very much and certainly recommend the course to golfers looking for a fun round on Oahu.
