The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
About
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks is touted as the best mountain golf course in Colorado and even one of the best courses in the country. Towering forests of pine and aspen frame the rolling fairways and manicured greens on this scenic layout. The crystal clear creeks and trout-filled lakes are a striking contrast to the lush green of the course and the snow-capped peaks in the distance. The golf course is known for more than its scenery though, its challenging design is a test for all skill levels. The steep-faced bunkers have deeply furrowed edges, which can be tricky but they also serve to contain tee shots that might have an increased carry because of the course's dramatic elevations. There are also water hazards to contend with on several holes.

Some really neat holes - greens would give the pros a hard time.
We played Breckenridge all week and decided to try a different course. I heard good things about the Raven and it stood up well to those reviews. There are a few signature holes with big dropoffs from the tee, but overall Breck is a much nicer, truer golf course. The fairways and greens (in some areas) need a little TLC, but overall it is a good course for the money (I paid $70 on a Wednesday afternoon.) Comparing normal rates from Raven to Breck, Breck wins in a landslide.
beautiful vistas.
Very scenic. Outstanding staff. Course well maintained. Great pro shop, spent more money .
Beautiful course.
First time to play here and will definitely come back. Staff were helpful and friendly. They had us start right on time. The course was challenging for good golfers, but not too overwhelming for the average golfer. Be sure to bring your camera. The scenery was amazing.
Great course super value
I have played this course several times before and have paid a lot more. Golf now makes this great course a great deal
SPECTACULAR!
Incredible test of golf. Several tee boxes to choose from depending on your skill level. Lush fairways, lush greens.
Not much else to say. Top ten course in Colorado and top
50 in the country!
Very nice
Spectacular views from various holes. The conditions when we played were very firm, from tee to green. It was difficult enough to judge distance playing in the higher altitude, but with the firm conditions, everything was rolling, rolling, rolling, and the greens were not holding, had to hit it to the front of the green and watch it bounce. Like playing Muirfield!
Need to play a second time and see if conditions are a little more receptive.
Very scenic course with breathtaking views of the mountains and wildlife. Course was challenging and fun.
Loved the course and while challenging ( back 9 is much tougher), fairways are wide enough to stay in play. One of the best mountain courses that I have played. It is on par with the Broadmoor Mountain course.
Very nice layout. Good challenge
Great value. Unlimited practice including bunkers, chipping, putting and driving range before play. Good risk reward. Ball tends to travel further at high elevation. Very little break in any putt. Fox on course came to great us. Osprey did not disappoint either. Beautiful views.
Outstanding Experience
Play this course! Staff was exceptional and expecially helpful as I showed up on the wrong day and they simply moved my reservation. This was a prepaid time and they were certainly not required to do so. Course was great to play and I will go again. Minor detail was the greens were a little long and slow but for a true mountain course this is certainly not the exception and barely worth mentioning.
Beautiful Mountain Course, very challenging.
Aside from a passing thunderstorm that interrupted play for a few minutes, I enjoyed every hole on this beautiful course with gorgeous views around every turn. The course is quite challenging from every tee with massive elevation changes and difficult greens, but you feel like you can score if you hit quality shots. Looking forward to playing it again soon.
Overall excellent!
Stunning Colorado mountain golf course which unfortunately had some minor rough edges when we played it on July 15, 2013. Staff and snack bar were harried but did their best. Price was very reasonable thanks to GolfNow -- my wife and I teed off at 3:03 pm for 65 bucks apiece. There was no starter present at the first tee and we did not see a ranger the entire 18. The twosome who joined us included one young college-age gal who had no idea how to make a golf swing. We witnessed a continuous succession of tops and whiffs and grounders that went 15 yards all afternoon long. Had there been a ranger this might have been rectified by asking the gal to play family tees and to pickup after an 8 or a 10. But no ranger. We finished about 7:45 and by then the 19th hole was shutdown. So we found a friendly Irish pub in Silverthorne -- Murphys. Great. Get and corned beef and cabbage or the pulled pork BBQ.
Great layout, but terrible condition and high cost ruins it
We booked an 11 AM tee time though GolfNow for $109 a person that is normally $149 this time of year (with tee times earlier in the day normally going for $169). For that kind of money, I would expect at least a somewhat well kept course. However, the greens at Raven were absolutely terrible, some of the worst I have ever played on. Every green was spotty and uneven, many had grass 1/4 inch or longer that had just been rolled, not mowed, and some (particularly the par 3's) had some serious damage that appeared to have been from ball marks going unrepaired. I know we are in a drought, so I am willing to give a pass to unusually thin rough or some brown spots, but a course like Raven should at least be able to maintain the greens when other mountain courses (including Rollingstone Ranch in Steamboat, which we played the previous day) seem to be doing just fine. The layout was fun and challenging but the greens were impossible to putt on. Every green was different, and the only thing they had in common was that your ball was bound to bounce around unpredictably. Most of the greens were extraordinarily slow as well due to the shaggy grass. Given the condition of the course, I would not recommend paying such a great amount of money to play there, at least until the condition improves. There are plenty of other mountain courses you can play that are in much better shape.
Was looking forward to playing here...
BELOW AVERAGE!!!! Greens were super slow and needed a lot of work. Approach areas to the greens for chipping/pitching were terrible. Fairways needed attention in a lot of areas. Golflogix Gps in the cart are janky and way outdated. Staff was not rude but could care less. Range balls had no dimples - great if you like warming up with knuckle balls. At 7400 from the tips in the mountains - not a real challenge when you are driving the ball 375 yds. off the tee - I wish I had a better experience - had only heard good things but something is obviously wrong this year. Wouldn't play there again for more than $40 if ever again.
We will be back!
We really enjoyed ourselves. Being from Illinois we weren't used to the elevation changes but it was fun. I'm ready for next year's vacation already.
The Raven is a great mountain course.
The Raven is my favorite mountain course. If is very fair for the average golfer. However, if you move back to the black tees you better have game. The views are terrific and often take your mind of the shot your about to attempt.
At a must do for anyone who is going to play in the mountains..
greens are not in good shape. course needs attention from a maintenance stand point. otherwise its beutiful.
Nice lay out, beutiful surroundings, but the course is not in good shape. The pace of play was absolutely terrible and no Marshall seemed to do anything about it.
Spectacular elevation changes and panoramic scenery
This was the first time playing this course and was pleased to find it in excellent condition, as mountain courses are hard to maintain. The staff was very welcoming and helped with tips on on some of the nuances of the course. If coming from out of the area, drink plenty of fluids and do your best to prepare for the altitude, because you will be playing on the top of the world.
Great views and huge elevation changes
It was a nice course although there were some areas that needed work like quite a few of the greens, they rolled pretty well though.
One of Colorado's best
Best mountain course in the state. Always entertaining, beautiful and challenging. Great place to bring first timers - the various elevated tee shots and scenery are always a crowd pleaser. Rates run high, but you can always find a deal through GolfNow or one of the coupon books. Greens are a little rough this year - some poa annua grass that hasn't been a problem in years past. Otherwise, the course is in good shape as always and the staff is excellent. Simply can't go wrong playing this course.
