The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks

About
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks is touted as the best mountain golf course in Colorado and even one of the best courses in the country. Towering forests of pine and aspen frame the rolling fairways and manicured greens on this scenic layout. The crystal clear creeks and trout-filled lakes are a striking contrast to the lush green of the course and the snow-capped peaks in the distance. The golf course is known for more than its scenery though, its challenging design is a test for all skill levels. The steep-faced bunkers have deeply furrowed edges, which can be tricky but they also serve to contain tee shots that might have an increased carry because of the course's dramatic elevations. There are also water hazards to contend with on several holes.

Course has good bones but it's run down and overpriced for its present condition so
Pace of play was 5 hrs plus. Course, its infrastructure, and clubhouse have obviously been starved for capital that's necessary to repair and maintain every aspect of this golf club. That said, the course has great bones and many dramatic holes. However, it's overpriced relative to its competitors.

SLOW
This is my third round in a row where the pace of play was embarrassing... 5 1/2 hours+!
We tee'd off at 2pm thinking we'd be done at 7 pm... worst case scenario. So dark on 17 and 18 we finished in the black of night and were worried we were going to die driving back to the clubhouse in the dark!
The clubhouse was shut down and locked up when we arrived we had to pee in the woods.
We've always loved the new course design by Tom Lehman,...and he newer white sand bunkers are awsome and really make the place pop. Still some funky/soaky spots but generally the bang-for-the-buck is there via GolfNow pricing.
They need to get a marshal out there and help the slow folks along. I wont take any clients until the speed of play gets fixed and I'm now warning all friends and family that this is a common problem at this course... so expect it... all days of the week.

Nice mountain course. Views spectacular. Pricey for what it is though. Charge for credit card use too which is BS!! Drinks pricey on and off course. They let out an 5some ahead of us which made for a 5 hour round. Tee times not honored teed off 12 late. Greens in good condition but for the average golfer way over the top on slope and pin position making it very difficult and a score killer. Practice area just ok.not many choices up here and all over priced, so reluctantly recommend.
Brutally Challebging
The course has quite a few drainage issues which resulted in some rough areas that needed better care both in fairway and first cut.
Our cart needed a tune up and ran pretty rough.
That’s the bad.
It is a beautiful course with grand views and exceptionally challenging holes. Lots of blind dog legs over challenging elevation changes.
It is overpriced for the conditions but a Hot Deal price made it better than reasonable.
Not a course to play if you are not competent off the tee. I was hitting very well off the tee and lost at least 6 balls that I hit exactly where I meant to and the ball either ran thru the fairway or landed in rough where the landing zone was over an elevation hange so I was guessing where to hit it and how far it could run out.
I would play it again on a day that wasn’t expecting some stiff wind and rain but I would probably use cheaper balls 🤨
Fantastic
Arrived for tee time the same time a thunderstorm did. Staff was very communicative and accommodating. Got out after the storm ended and everything was great. Course in good condition. Pace of play was perfect. I think this could be my favorite course. We will be back to play again.
tough course
the course punishes anyone who is in the fairway or the first cut of rough. most of the time it is a lost ball.
Could be Great
Course had a few very nice well maintained holes, other holes either had ground under repair on the greens, fairways that were so wet and muddy you couldn't get to your ball, tee boxes that were just dirt and cart paths that were just dangerous other than that the scenery was great
Great course but expensive given conditions
Front nine wonderful but back nine huge drainage issues! Course has been in much better shape in the past still a ton of fun to play great views but a little expensive given current condition.
The Raven
Course is excellent. Cart paths need work. Staff is friendly but needed more staff.
Very disappointing
We were very disappointed with the condition of the course. We were not told in advance that there was a lot of standing water and hazard areas marked off. We paid $225. The pace of play was extremely slow. We were waiting on the box 7 to 8 minutes per hole, the fairways were very wet best up and muddy our balls were plugging in the fairways and you walked to your ball your ankle, deep and water and mud we brought this to the attention of the pro shop and the young man behind the task was very arrogant and rude. Told us this is the best condition. The course has been in over the last six years and offered nothing. If I have Membership here, I would be extremely disappointed and upset. We played the river course the day before paid $165 and the course was in immaculate condition. I will not play this course again.
Great Course!
Fantastic course in great shape except for a few fairways on the back 9. All greens beautiful and rolling nicely. Will be back
Really unique mountain course
I love sharing this course with other people: quirky
beautiful, diverse, Altitude changes are truly unique. I was struck by how different the front 9 and back nine layouts seemed. Course was wet but otherwise in good shape.
Nice Course and Good Value for Cost
I've played this course several times. I enoy the layout and views. My only complaint is that the cost for my wife to be a rider was $55 plus tax. Seems a bit outrageous to me
