Beautiful course
Ludlow plays wet, you will loose a few balls, great course, good greens !
Excellent all around!
Four of us headed over from Seattle for the day. The course was exceptional. The staff, as well as the local golfers, were super friendly. Even the deer were courteous. The course was in great shape. The greens roll a little slow (not an issue once you have faith in the consistency). The service ws quick... and the drinks were great. The patio was a perfect way to end the round. We can't wait to get back.
Short course
Everything was good except for the length of the course might be too short for serious players and long hitters.
Terrific day, uncrowded, good value, course in very good condition. Will definitely return.
Always enjoy my time at this course
I first played this course around 1980 and have played it two to three times a year since the restoration/renovation was done. Can see the outcome manifested in nicely rolling greens and better drainage. Expanding the greens by mowing to approximate original green configurations creates additional interesting pin positions and reduces wear and tear. Rebuilding the bunkers improved their condition from several years ago.
This as top five course in the state in late 70s with courses like Sahalee and Royal Oaks having higher rankings and the only public course among the group. The tree removal program helps with allowing more light and ventilation.
Nice course to meet friends and play around of golf
Had a great time Golfing met some super nice people. The amenities were good. I would recommend anybody in the area to play this. The prices were fair. I enjoyed it. I played all over the country in the last month and this was one of the nicest courses..
Port Ludlow showing age?
I’ve played this course over the years and I quite enjoy the layout. But, the condition of the course leaves a little to be desired. The greens are mostly in great shape however they just need to be mowed, and the pin placements need to be moved more frequently. They were very slow, especially for this time of the year. The rough has improved as the many white flowers have been taken care of recently. The sand traps are good, the tea boxes are OK. The course just looks aged. It seems like it needs a little more tender, loving care.
Awesome views and challenging greens
Love having such a great course 5 minutes from our course.
A Pacific Northwest Gem getting better
I thoroughly enjoy playing this course. I hope they will consider placing yardage markers in the fairways to help those who don’t carry a range finder nor use a cart. It would be a great way to celebrate their 50 year anniversary!
So much potential
The layout is interesting and fun but the course maintenance is lacking. It's clear they're not charging enough to maintain the course at the level it could or should be. I'd be willing to pay more to play if it were better maintained.
The restaurant in the clubhouse is an exercise in poor management. No hot foot or sandwiches ready at the turn. I suppose if we'd known we could have called in an order but that's not mentioned nor were we told about wait times when we ordered. It was at least 15 min per group to get our orders, which is brutal at the turn. Another huge missed opportunity to make this a much better golf experience.
Historic treasure going down the toilet
RIP OFF CENTRAL!!!!!
I've played here for over 20 years. It's a 3.5 hour drive from my house but always make time to get up there at least twice a year. Last played in in early September of last year and it was an exceptionally manicure, challenging and scenic track.
Played in on May 22, 2025. The greens are slow. The cups haven't been cut in over a week (literally so grown over that putts that hit slightly off center of the cup hopped over the hole). Tee boxes look like Germany in WWII. Fairways have enough clover growing there that you feel like you're in an alpine field hiking. Rough was well over 4 inches.... which I don't mind if I'm playing in a U.S. Open but don;t appreciate when I'm playing a track that is already narrow.
I'm a 4.2 handicap and shot 83. This score was mostly due to lost balls (lots of wet spots), relatively poor green conditions and the fact that nature has encroached into the course to such a degree that several holes felt unrecognizable from my previous 40+ trips here.
One green had standing water over 6 inches deep on one side and burnt out grass on the other. Shameful.
I will NEVER return here. Too many quality courses on the Kitsap Penninsula to waste $100 on trash like this. The owners are obviously pulling money out and are not interested in a quality golfing experience.
This course was challenge for me.
It is a great up and down hill. I like to play fun with challenges.
