Clearview Park Golf Course

Had heard the rumors and read the reviews on other golf chat rooms, but had to see for ourselves. Everyone was correct! The course has gone from very good to not playable! They should not even be open. Everything, everything is in horrible condition. The greens never recovered from the winter and have freeze burns on them. On top of that, crabgrass is growing wild everywhere including on the greens. Trying to pick a good line to putt was impossible , crabgrass or freezer burn was in your way. Word is that during pandemic lockdown, no maintenance work was done at all, they allowed the course to die. It shows! Other local area courses had a skeleton crew working, and they did a good job. This was once a beautiful and very popular course, RIP Clearview.

I got there at 10:45 AM for an 11:30 Tee time, the guy in front of me, we waited 10 min for the guy at the desk to show up, then he asked the man in front of me what time was his tee off, the man said 10 :30 AM, so at that point i can see if he has a 10:30 AM and I have a 11:30 AM tee off, and he is still at the desk, i am not getting out till at least 12:30..and i know this is a 5:30 hour round at this course, so I WENT HOME!!!! lost day and 29.00 , will not go back...

the green conditions are not good. Hope it can change it.

Condition of the course was terrible especially the greens , also the tee boxes need a lot of work.

Pace of play was very slow, no staff to keep the players moving at a reasonable pace.For the price although not too bad I expected better , I would recommend this course if you’re looking for somewhere relatively cheap if you don’t mind the condition and have a lot of time on your hands.

In my 30 years of playing golf, this was the worst golf experience in my life. The coarse was not maintained at all. Tee boxes were all weeds, crab grass and no attempts to even mow. The greens had more black bear spots than parking lot. The coarse was also poorly managed. I arrived early just to see my tee time get moved 60 mins past the scheduled time, and the manager was still taking tee times. I was able to finish 7 holes from my scheduled 18 before nightfall. When asked for a rain check, the manager said, sorry we don’t do this.

Can’t tell difference from rough to fairway. And every green is in such bad shape there is no point to even putt.

The course was in horrible condition, with greens that were barely alive. In addition, the course was so slow, I was fed up after 9 holes. Spend a little more, and go elsewhere. This is not worth your time.

they are not following sanitary rules under COVID19 circumstance.

Probably my last time playing here. Greens are in horrible condition, place is very slow as well.

Course contidtion was terrible and the green was destroyed and a disgrace to local golfers .And a waste of money and a beyond disappointment.

American Golf should be ashamed of their performance here at Clearview! The state this course is in is indefensible. While other area courses did the right thing during the pandemic in keeping their courses somewhat playable,, its obvious American Golf did absolutely zero upkeep to the course. I have never seen a municipal course in worse shape, literally weeds growing on those greens that had any growth on them as more greens were bare than had grass, Sand traps that were indistinguishable from the rough. Really just an apal;ling lack of effort on their part. There should be a criminal investigation into the misuse of the revenue AG has gotten on the backs on golf loving NYer's...just a shame

What a shame opened the course in such a bad shape.

Though out the course, everything is bad condition.

I won’t come back here this year.

What a shame! I’m proud to be a New Yorker but disappointed that such a beautiful layout should be in such ruin. Fairways are infested with weeds, other places it’s bare. Greens are horrible, half grass half dirt.
