Weeds growing on the green
Worse than mini golf conditions. Weeds and scrubs growing on the greens, can’t putt. You can set up a picnic on the grass
Good value
The greens are in bad shape but they are discounting the greens fees so it’s a good and cost effective place to get some practice in.
The worst
The greens and tee boxes are covered with crab grass. Don’t bother putting because the greens are burnt and bumpy with weeds. The grass are dried out with wasps nest buried on the fairways.
Terrible
Probably the worst condition I’ve ever seen any golf course.... ever
Don't go- GREENS are worse then a cow pasture
Not worth even $40.00
Greens are horrible-never seen worse in 30 years playing.
The Greens are in Terrible Shape
I was wondering why this course is less than all the other NYC courses. I found out why. Nobody is taking care of the greens. I have not played this course in about two years. This is the worse I have seen of any NYC course. Weeds growing on the greens. They can’t blame this on COVID-19 because all the other courses is in way better shape.
Waste of money
This was a cow pasture masquerading as a golf course, there is no amount of money you should spend to play here turn it into condos the view of the bridge is spectacular
Ehhh
I was hoping I would be pleasantly surprised with the conditions. I wasn’t...the conditions are really bad. No fairways... it’s like teeing off onto a dead soccer field. Greens are rough also.
The price is fair at 30 bucks with a cart but I don’t think I would return.
Glorified Driving Range
Currently this course should be considered nothing more than a glorified driving range. The course condition is understandably very poor given how long they have been closed. That being said the course staff was incredibly rude and acted as if they were doing you a favor to be open. The price is right if you are just trying to dust off your clubs but not worth actually playing.
Practice round only
Like the other reviewers said, this course is in really rough shape and the greens are even worse. It's also true that you're more likely to play a slow death round behind some hacksmiths playing from the tips when they should be playing from the front tees. That being said, it's like the wild west out there. You can play four balls if you like and might as well, since you're likely to be waiting 20 minutes for the group in front of you to finish their pre shot routines...on every shot. No ranger means no one to pace anyone. That said, you can pull a trump and drive all the way up onto the green and not feel so bad, because the greens are just... the worst. Prices are discounted to reflect the horrid conditions, but if you're just interested in a practice round with no constraints on time (aka you enjoy taking 20 minutes between each shot) and getting a cart included in the deal, then I'd say go for it. Oh, and definitely do not play any premium balls at this course. It will be picked up by someone the moment you lose sight of it. So unless you're 18/18 on fairways hit, I'd recommend playing a ball you don't mind disappearing. In fact, even if you're 18/18 I'd recommend playing the ugliest junk ball, because these hacksmiths have no shame. Best of luck
Disappointed
I have played here many times and I like the course in general, but the condition the course is, it’s just sad. Awful fairways (the looked like rough) tee boxes and the greens were just terrible. I have never played a golf course in such poor conditions.
Not worth it
I am guessing because of COVID-19 they were not able to take care of the course ... the fairway was very patchy and the greens were terrible ... it was almost like putting on smooth dirt .
They need to close for a week and let the course grow in completely and then roll the greens
Geeens Suck
The greens were full of crab grass and burnt out. Fairways were dry and conditions were not good. I would not recommend this course in the shape it’s in.
dont tell me you paid full price. course worth 20 buck for practice.
