Convienent track for Queens locals
Had the first tee time out so the notoriously slow pace wasn't an issue. Despite having an early tee time, didn't get out until over 2 hours later due to frost delay. This late in the season, the course didn't play that bad. Yes there are leaves all over the course, tee boxes are worn, and ball marks all over greens. Keep in mind it is December with cold weather and winds. Maintenace I'm sure isn't at full staff this time of year. People have to keep in mind Clearview is one of the most played tracks in the northeast. Its a cash cow so they don't have to kiss anybody's butt. Staff was ways cordially friendly with me. Overall for me, a pleasant day spent playing golf with no shenanigan issues.
This Course was in terrible shape it look like they hadn’t raked the leaves at all there were bonkers with 2 feet deep in leaves the leaves all over the fairway and there wasn’t anyone cleaning them up the staff were very unfriendly and rude and I would not recommend this course if you have someone with you and your party that cancels you better make sure you call within 24 hours because they will charge you without a doubt there is no friendliness when to comes to Clearview golf course
Slow go
Always a slow go at this course. At times very annoying. But a good day overall. A day at a golf course is always better than being anywhere else.
Terrible Condition
The course has potential but needs a lot of love. Maybe an ok course for beginners, but intermediate should skip it.
Possibly the worst shape i've ever seen a golf course. Multiple dirt patches all over the fairways... as if they'd been dug up (especially on 18). Fairways are rock hard (no rain in weeks) - poor irrigation. If you're a digger, good luck hitting off them. Sand traps are like concrete and full of rocks. If you play the back tees, you'll be teeing off of dirt half the time.
The staff is very friendly and the course if full of big Oak trees so plenty of shade on hot days.
Cart issue
I really feel uncomfortable to share a golf cart with a stranger. Luckily this time I get someone who’s friend. What if..... I thought I suppose to ride by myself.
Terrible customer service
I booked a tee time for 4 players. It was a rainy Sunday morning damp and foggy with a light rain when we started and I had a last minute cancellation my 73 yr old father in law who didn’t want to play in the rain and last I checked the forecast it wasn’t supposed to rain unfortunately I got to the course 15 mins before my tee time and the man in the pro shop said where have you been the minute I walked in then lectured me about in a minute we might of had to wait a few hours to play because he was going to skip over us even though our tee time hadn’t passed then he asked if I had my four I tried to explain that I only had three and he made a snide remark to whoever would listen in the pro shop something like oh look and they only have three then he asked me if I booked with golf now I said yes then he decided that he was going to charge me for both carts I guess because it was more convenient for him the I had to collect my $20 after our round then he rushed us out the door I thought our experience with this nasty man was finished but when I woke up the next morning and checked my email I was notified that he charged me $73.50 for father in law which I felt was unfair since it was inclement weather I’ve been to all the city courses and I’ve had some other last minute cancellations before and the course has never charged me and they have never treated me the way he did plus the course had huge patches or sod just ripped up from the fairway on almost every hole with no explanation I was very unhappy with my treatment and I won’t be going back PS I called golf now and the gentleman that spoke to tried very hard to have the course reverse the charges and he got the same man who was nasty to him too and I would just like to know who decides how big the rain drops have to be to allow you to cancel because the man said it was only drizzling not enough to cancel
Clearview
Tee boxes need lots of work, not in good condition.
Given the high green fees the course condition should be much better.
636am tee time and still slow pace of play
Rangers really need to do a better job having people move along. I don't mind the re-tee shots but rangers need to keep people moving. Unacceptable that be the 3rd group to start and finish at almost 5 hours.
tee boxes were in terrible condition. I dont mind the usual wear and tear but to have tee boxes uneven and have ditches is just not acceptable.
Still Waiting!
Every Hole Waiting and Waiting...
Ranger should be out to Field to Controlled Slow Golfer!!!
Horrible experience
I paid 42 dollars for 18 holes and only played 9 because Clearview neglected to inform me that the had a golf outing taking place up until 5:30pm. I also paid for a golf cart but they wanted me to share with someone else. Very bad experience and not sure if I want to go back to Clearview.
Great Course, but golfnow messed up tee time
This golf course is great and respects it's patrons. Unfortunately, I tried to modify my foursome to a twosome on golfnow well before the 24 hour cancellation window and the website would not allow me to do so. Golfnow was unhelpful at all in trying to help me with the course. Thank goodness the golf pro at Clearview (Tony) allowed me to make the adjustment when he didn't have to. I used golfnow for a while now, but after this debacle, which wasn't the first time, I will not use them again.
Clearview - I would strongly recommend.
Better than expected
course seemed to be in good condition. fairly easy course for beginners. only negative is they charge for parking. only $3.00 but its the pricipality smokey.
Convienent local track in NYC
Probably the most played track in the northeast. On a Wednesday morning, we got to the tee box with a 20 minute delay because play was backed up. Overall it took 5 hours and 10 minutes to finish. Players state this is normal and the weekends is even worst. Rangers were out on the course but little can be done when the course is jammed everywhere.
Tee boxes and greens are beaten up just due to the sheer amount of play. To add to it, people are lazy to fix ball marks. Surprisingly fairways were decent considering the amount of play. When everyday is practically a weekend round, there is only so much course maintenance can be done.
Course is for the most part flat and very easy to walk. Design is a little boring because every hole is straight with no dog legs.
Definitely a convienent course for Queens local players. Not a course to travel from out of town to play except if somebody is curious to play one of the busiest tracks period.
Staff if average friendly and bartender inside the clubhouse is very good.
Poor pace of play
Need rangers on the course to spe d pace of play. Average time to play 18 holes has been about 5 1/2 to 6 hours
Great course
The course is very nice and well kept. The course is very good for beginners. I had a great time and the staff was pretty friendly.

So if four strangers were paired together, all riders, you're saying that the golf course should allow 4 golf carts out in one foursome? By that logic the golf course would need 4 times as many carts as they already have.
