Can't trust the recent positive reviews since Lakeview incentivizes people to write them
As noted in many reviews of this course, it has gone downhill. It's in poor shape, yet they still charge like it's a premium course. Several of the greens are in horrible shape, and maintenance is quite poor in general. It's a real shame given the nice layout on a beautiful piece of land. Recently Lakeview started incentivizing reviews, asking reviewers to provide Lakeview with their GolfNow usernames after leaving reviews in order for a chance to win free rounds. It stands to reason that few people are going to write negative (and honest) reviews if they're hoping to get free rounds. This practice clearly violates GolfNow's?/GolfPass's terms and conditions and it would be nice if the new owners of the course focused on bringing the course back form the dead instead of trying to get people to leave slanted positive reviews.

Good but very challenging
I have played here at least a dozen times. To start, the staff is always very friendly. The course is a beautiful layout, but not meant for your beginning Golfer. Greens are usually true, unless you play after a rain storm. The front is much easier and the halfway house has a decent selection of snacks and drinks. You finish on a 600 yard Par 5, which when I last played, there were a group of athletes (competing against WVU) you were cheering everyone on to finish strong. Price is a little steep but worth if you find a good deal on GolfNow

Green inconsistencies
Some were like putting on glass and other like putting on sand, lol, I’m not a super picky player but pick one LOL. Overall a very fun and well staffed course though!

Awful greens
The golf course has gone majorly down hill. Green absolutely suck

great course
One of the best courses in the area. I really like the layout. The tree-lined fairways on the front offer a great challenge. The bunkers could be maintained a bit better, but overall a great course.

Course was laid out very nice! Back 9 is easier than front 9 but hole 18 is a monster of a hole! Great course and friendly staff

Great staff, nice course, horrible cart paths.
The staff was nice, the course was in good condition, but the cart paths are atrocious. They are worse than WV roads. Fix these immediately!!!

Best course in the area
Easily the best course in the Area and the price makes it even better. GPS in the carts is great and they have a beer cart person and snack shack at the turn. The two restaurants are good and the pro shop has a good selection. Would definitely recommend for a golf weekend.

It was raining, very windy & cold. Played 5 holes then left. Person at course said she couldn’t give us a rain check. Tried to call GolfNow - didn’t help. Tried to contact GolfNow online _ not successful. I think we deserve some money back or some type of rain check
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to keep the pace of play running smoothly and to never have it too backed up. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
Great Course
First time playing out this year so it was fun to go out and just get to swinging the clubs again. I have played here before and always enjoy Lakeview.
