Good course
It's a basic, no frills course but it was enjoyable. Considering the lack of rain we have had it was still in nice shape. Pace of play was decent, a little over 4 hours for a foursome.
Great course
Played this course yesterday with one of my buddy's. The pace of play was a little bit slow but that was just because it was busy. Still came in around 4 hours for 18 which isn't horrible.
As for the course, we played from the tips which makes this course pretty long with most of the par 5s being over 550 yards. Great challenging course but the greens could have been a bit softer. That can be attributed to barely any rain in upstate NY in the last week.
Course Never Looked Better
I played the day after the Syr Post Standard qualifier - that is what I was told by the pro shop guy. He was very personable and very knowledgable. Course was in great condition. The greens were very fast and perfectly true. Didn't have a ball all day that didn't roll true. I have played the course at least 5 times before but this is the best it has ever been. Kudos to course maintenance personnel.
Challenging layout
Fairways and greens in nice shape.
Small but fast and soft greens
Nice course for money through golf now. No bargain without deal. Power lines through course. Greens smaller on east course than west.
Overall would play again.
Relaxing Round of Golf
Played at my own pace which was really enjoyable. The course in fun to play and in excellent condition. The greens were a bit tricky and quick.
East Course
Used the "Hot Deal" and this is an unbelievable value. With the Upstate rain recently, course was in great shape. It may be a little out of the way but the value easily paid for the gas.
Nice couse
Went to play with 3 other not so good golfers. It was a good course for them, not too difficult but a little challenging.
Nice Round for the Money
Course is well maintained and pretty. Fun holes that offer a challenge but aren't out of reach. Only downside is the powerlines that cross through the course and over some holes. You can hear then humming as you put.
rainy days
With any course after a few days of rain can be challenging. I've played the course numerous times this year and found one par 3 new tee box a bit undesirable. If something isn't broken, then why fix it. perhaps to get a few more feet out of the course would be the only reason I would adjusted it. If you weren't aware of the changes you wouldn't have known about the new cart path which isn't clearly label. Also nothing has been done to improve the path. good luck getting back there walking after a rain storm. Other than that, this course is one of the better ones in CNY for your money, wish they would provide more cooked food at this club house as it does on the west course.
Great course
First time playing the east course and it was great. the course was a little tighter than most courses Ive played in the area which made for a fun game and everything was nicely groomed.
Great course but spring time wet
Great course to play with a nice layout. Playing in the wet spring so the course was playing long and a bit wet. That being said, the course was in very good condition given this time of year. Pace of play was great--played by myself in about 3 hours. I strongly recommend it!
Great course but still too wet
This is a great course, very scenic, challenging holes, but too early in season to play as many parts are very wet. Probably late May it will dry out, and I'll return.
Regardless, the greens are already in great shape, and fun to putt on. They are larger then most other local courses, and easy to hit on with your second shot.
Great shape for late season
Greens were hard and fast . A few leaves on the greens but must be expected this time of year
Nice Day in the Syracuse sun
We had a very nice day playing the East Course at Rogues Roust. The course was in good shape. Had a few spots with standing water, but we could play around the wet spots.
The people at Rogues Roost were friendly and accommodating.
Gotta' love golf now.com
I played Rogue's Roost, 27 holes for 24 dollars. The staff was almost too friendly and ready to help. The course was in excellent condition, greens were fast, but not ridiculous, and would hold an approach shot.Fairways were narrow, but not bad, and were well groomed. Rough was enough to want to avoid, and the traps were maintained with enough sand to be able to play. WE WILL DEFINITELY PLAY AGAIN!
Fun & challenging
Excellent course, great for walking. Excellent conditions. This is my favorite course especially in the fall. The staff was helpful, and friendly. The owner of the course was also on site, takes great pride in both courses.
