The Oldest Public Course
I’ve been playing golf for almost 20 years and a New Yorker but never played here. The place is pretty cool to check out if you have time to check it out. Upstairs is an original locker room and downstairs has some famous members lockers.
The routing is pretty interesting. It’s a very tight, tree lined course so make sure you can hit it straight. There’s nothing wrong with going less than driver. 15-18 feels squeezed in but that makes sense because Robert Moses didn’t care and put a parkway thru it. There is one really dumb blind shot par 3 but otherwise some really fun holes. Greens were slowwwww but again that course gets a lot of play so that makes sense. I’ll be back now that I know it
Course is in good shape. Greens in great shape compared to prior years. Tee boxes have made strides forward but still a few (#10 in particular) that may never be grass covered. Very enjoyable round. Great place of play Thursday 1240pm tee time.
Excellent
6:03 tee time, beautiful in the morning, had 3 giant snapping turtles walking across the course!
Vanny
First time playing this course in about 4 years. It has deteriorated significantly. It is a cow pasture, tee boxes are mostly hard pan, fairways are clover and dandelion, greens are barely hanging on. Played on a Monday late morning. Halfway house was closed! Only 2 water jugs on the course and one was empty. This used to be the best public track in the Bronx, NO MORE! Play Pelham or Split Rock. Don't waste your money on this one.
Great course
I’ve played this course many times. It’s a great looking course and good pace as well. I’m never waiting more then 2 mins at a home if I ever do have to wait.
Good Day
Always enjoy playing there. Quick pace and the course is in good shape. Nice gem in the Bronx.
A nice course
The course is nice, starts fairly flat then hilly on the last four. It is not an easy walking course due to distance between some holes .
