Golfer Reviews
Course is in much better shape than last year. I’m guessing from all the rain we’ve had. Fairways are actually green. Greens are tricky. Barely a level spot to be found so have your putting game in order.
Nothing special
Nothing amazing here. Fairway and green just so so.
Relaxingly Long
Marine Park is my home course. This link styled course near a bay has hearty grass fairways and beautifully challenging greens. Tips 7k+, fwd 4.7k and 2 addtl in-between. Hazards, if you don't keep in fwy, will find tall grasses, occasional bunker, mounds and some trees. Staff is very friendly and there is full service bar and food. On weekends 1/2 way mark has outdoor grill/bar. And patio to relax at end of round. The best range at course in city, irons only, beautiful putting green and chipping area, with sand bunker. 😍
Back 9 pace of play is a fiasco
Get a ranger on the back asap.
Golf is popular again the course is packed with a giant variety of golfers.
Marshall on the back would be very welcomed.
Pace of play to everyone - learn it, live it, know it.
If you are slow be aware of it and let the group behind you play through. Don’t be idiots!!!!
Good Day At Marine Park
The greens were fast even with the over night rain and morning dew. New tee box on #8 plays over the pond. A good drive over the water will set you up nicely with a short approach shot.
Friday & Saturday Play Memorial Day Weekend
Course in excellent condition overall. Cart paths could use some love. Mosquitos can be brutal in the back areas so take care (Friday nasty hot humid even with OFF, but Saturday better with Picaridin & it was less humid with a breeze). Nice to see beverage-cart-service with e-payment this weekend. Pace of play was decent Friday (just over 4 hours) but Saturday was slow (close to 5 hours no surprise). One of my NYC go-to-courses!
Best of Both Worlds
Kudos to NYC Parks and Recreation for creating a private club atmosphere at a public course setting.
Nice course to play
This course maintains a beautiful landscape and fairway. The staff here are very friendly. The management is excellent. We do not need to wait for 10 or 15 minutes in each hole which I experienced at other courses. It has pitch and putts exercises fields which many other courses do not have.
I recommend this course to many of my friends already
