Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Terrible condition
The greens were aerated At his time of the season I was not expecting this And management made no prior notice. The. Fairways are being widened this should increase rate of play but now create an under construction feel to the course. Again no notice from management.
Save your money stay away for now
This was lame
The service was amazing at Pine Ridge. The cart guy greeted my buddy and I as soon as we got there, was very lively and the starter was a gentleman. The pace of play was horrific. I can’t really blame Pine Ridge for that though considering the foursome in front of us would not let us play through. However, for the first 5 holes maintenance was spread throughout the course in the middle of the day moving about with their machinery constantly whistling in our ear. The greens were air rated and those air rated holes were left hollow creating a bumpy roll with the putter. The bunkers were more like holes filled with dirt as opposed to sand and the fairways were so soft you would have thought it poured the night prior to our round. I know it is early in the season but you cannot charge $51 for that quality of a course. I understand that is why maintenance is out and about but you that is for the early morning, not at 12pm. It’s a great layout - just needs a lot of improvement.
Nice layout
Course layout is nice. Greens and fairways were aerated so conditions not great. Once grass fills in, should be good. Also lot of work was being done on perimeters of fairways
Amount of people on course was minimal, so pace was very good. Overall great value for amount charged. Course will be nice once grass grows in but assume price will increase as well.
Nice Course
Always liked this course layout. This year they are undergoing major tree removal, opening up fairwys and greens. Can't wait for it to be completed. Course is in great shape and tree work does not effect play.
Lot of work being done
Trees are being taken down to be less narrow and an overall refurbishing. Greens were fast and true. Little disorganized due to an earlier outing and frost delay.
Winter golf
Fairways full of leaves. Traps hard and lots of leaves. Flags placed on edges of greens. Not like they're giving the rounds away. At least make an attempt to maintain the course.
had a 10:43 t-time didn't start until 11:35 because the pro in the shop let 3 foursomes join a group outing that morning unacceptable could not finish the round I planned and payed for frankly that wrong and rude
Very Nice Course
I've played this a few times and never score well here. It's a challenging course and the lay is really nice. The course on this day was in very good shape. Greens rolled true and the fairways were nice and plush. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Errant shots will make you pay. If you haven't played here, I'd give it a try.
Nice Layout
This course was in very nice condition. The greens ran true. If you haven't tried this course yet, I highly recommend that you do. Staff very friendly and accommodating Pace of play this day was very good as we didn't have to wait once on anybody in front of us..
Needs some TLC
This is a quirky course with 6200 yards (5600 yards and 6600 yard tees too short or too long) 5 par fours of 394,421,428,439,440 and 5 par 3's and 3 par 5's. The turns and the tightness and forced carry and/or lay ups removes the driver out of the hands of anyone who hits 240 yards on these longer holes. Conditions were OK. Fairways needed maintenance as the edges were all hard pan. Washed out areas had not been repaired. Greens were very smooth and fast, but so hard that holding them was impossible.
Solid challenging track, moderately size fairways and good conditions
Thursday morning tee time, had no issues with pace. Friendly gentleman checked us in at the pro shop and had nice round overall. Despite the nice weather, the wind gusts were blowing heavy. Miss fairways here, you're forced to pitch out from pine trees (hence the name). A bit of a drive from NYC but worth the drive especially playing in the middle of the week.
I love the variation
This is a great course to work on your putting for tournament play. The greens are fast but also consistent with plenty of movement as you putt. The tee box variation makes this a good course for all skill levels but you have to be a straight hitter to pull a decent score.
The putting surfaces were full of holes; greens were
aeriated
it worth for money i paid
except cart path condition, overall condition was good.
Glad I returned here to play
Didn't realize it was 6 years since I've played here yesterday. It's a notch below when it opened but the greens are still very fast and smooth, fairways tight and fine and edges around the bunkers are a little untidy but it has a nice variety of holes once you get over the par 4 3rd which is quirky since you have to hit the tee shot a fairly precise yardage or else you are blocked from the green. Tee boxes are aerated and sanded now but other than that, its fine and I would definitely return. I don't really need the royal treatment from the staff like they used to provide in the old days (a big difference now). If you can go up and down here, your short game is outstanding. A nice challenge. Areas more than 10 feet from around the greens on the sides and back could use some work. The cart I had did have the back cover for clubs in case of rain with a large rip across the top and the Velcro didn't work to keep it up so getting clubs out was cumbersome and a tire had low air pressure. Not a deal breaker though. Ranger was nice and suggested to skip the few holes where the school kids were playing and I returned to play them later and then some which was a nice bonus of 8 extra holes. With gestures like that, return business is virtually guaranteed. W. Ryan
