Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Pace of play terrible
There was an event going on until around 2:00. The first hole was backed up with 3 foursomes and it took about 1 and a half hours to get off the first 2 holes. After that the ranger came around to break up the pack. However, it completely screwed up the flow of the day and made for a very long round.
Great Round
The course is in great shape. Sure, the greens have been recently punched but thanks to a couple of days of rain, it's starting to heal pretty well.
Price needs a drop
I love playing here , great staff nice course layout. Always slows up at hole 3-6 but rate of play seems to be nice and consistent.
Now for the bad news, THE PRICE!!! Keeps jumping every year great course but mid season they charge to much, this is a 65$ with cart type of course max but they seem to think it is worth a lot more. Unfortunately i don't think ill be making a trip out here mid season with their prices.
Good course for the money
Good course as it's pretty challenging. Tight course. Greens were airated and not in good putting shape. Overall experience was ok.
PINE RIDGE
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS COURSE. IT HAS A FINE MIX OF HOLES. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT YOU SHOULD BE TOLD IF A COURSE HAS BEEN AERATED IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS.
My New Home Course
Played On 3/30/16 @ 12:42pm Via TeeOff.com For $31 Minus $10 Website Promo Offer. $23 Bucks With Tax For 18 Holes & Cart. HOW YOU DOIN??!!! I Only Play Golf, Looking For Deals Via Tee Time Websites. Never Paying Full $$ @ The Courses.
Moving To The Coram Area This Past Month & Pine Ridge Being The Closest I Tried It Out. Nice Bar/Food & Pro Shop With A Friendly Staff. The Driving Range Could Use A Face Lift (Tee Boxes & Ball Dispenser) But Come Better Weather I Believe There Is A Grass Driving Range.
Per The Golf Course, Be Ready To Be On The Mark With Your Tee Shots. The Fairways Are Narrow & Mistakes End Up It The Woods. Once On The Fairway Play Is Much Easier & I Finished The Day Shooting An 82. My Best Round Out Of 7 For The Month Of March. I Will Only Play This Course When I Can Lock In A Good Deal For Others In The Area Are Better. But Being Closest To My Home. I'll Be Back Many Times. Looking To Zero In With My Tee Shots.
Give Pine Ridge A Try & Swing Away.
March golf, who would have thought?
Yesterday was March 12th and we got to play golf. Who would have thought that possible? The course was in great shape for this time of the year. The farways were clean and the the greens were in great shape and fast. The staff was friendly and got us out on time. The only miss for the day was that the bar where you can eat and drink was not open. The overall experience was very good.
Dissapointed
I recently played pine ridge and was Dissapointed for the second time...although it is winter golf season they only had one tee box available which was almost comparable to a red tee box and the flags were all put on the edges of the greens almost in the fringe. They did not want anyone walking on the greens. Just took a lot out of a highly anticipated round..
Nice layout
Weather was poor but course was in excellent condition. Staff were friendly and food was good.
Great course
Nicely manicured track... not an easy course... Challenging but well worth it
Great Day
Went out as a twosome and was joined by a nice single who happens to be a member.
Course was in great condition, playing on a beautiful day in Nov.
Premium on good chipping and putting
Play from blues is not demanding and on a lot of holes less than the card says. Need to keep drives in play as woods are heavy. Very good condition. Very quick greens with lot of sloping. Ability to chip and putt are a must here or you are looking at a LOT of 3 putts.
Fairly difficult course, very tree ed
Nice course in good shape, cart paths need a lot of work
Limited staff
Quick round
I'm sure that the exceptional weather helped my overall satisfaction with the golf course but it did move quickly for a Saturday morning as I finished my round in just over four hours. The course plays short but there are many hazards that contribute to the difficulty, greens were very quick and too browned out but the lack of rain had a lot to do with that. Overall the fairways and bunkers were in good shape and the staff is friendly and helpful, nice course.
We'll balanced course for experienced golfers
Very nice course. Greens excellent, very consistent.
Fairways not too narrow.
Pine Ridge Twosome
My girlfriend and I played this course after seeing it on GolfNow. She is from the area but we had not played it. I knew the other Billy Casper facilities I've played were fantastic for daily fee public courses and this one did not disappoint. The staff was friendly (lent us a women's driver free, her's is ancient), gave us a free yardage book, walked me through the holes, all before leaving the pro shop. The range is real grass which you can't beat. The course was not busy, although it was very hot out and the British Open final round was supposed to be that morning, but whatever. It took us just over 4 hours to play (slow for a twosome) but there were a couple foursomes in front of us so no worries.
The ranger was watching out for us, even found my golf ball a couple times, but I never complained about the pace. It would have been difficult to get us through three foursomes and we enjoyed not rushing anyway.
The clubhouse is nice, enjoyed a couple drinks after the round.
Course was in excellent condition for a public course. If it was a private club without a ton of play, maybe it could have been a little better, but no complaints whatsoever. Greens were consistent.
None of the holes were memorable, but it did remind me of playing in North Carolina with all of the pines.
Will definitely go back. Paid $78 each which is fine with me for a course that is in good condition, although I will look for a better deal next time.
7/19/15
Great course. Tree lined fairways. A few short par 4s and a few very long challenging par 4s. Course was in great conditions with the greens running fast. All the staff was very helpful and keep checking in with us during the round because there were 3 groups in front of us that we're ruining the pace of play. Overall good round and worth it if you can play cheaper than normal price.
Great Course and a Great Deal to Go With It!
Went out as a twosome and did not run into anyone else. Course had people out there, but everyone was moving at a good pace so that no one ran into the next group. Course was in fantastic condition with the greens running about a 10 (according to the pro) and everything was green and lush. Very tight course so if you are spraying the ball, you will have a very long day. The course isn't long, but the tough, large greens and narrow fairways more than make up for it. Have played the course about a dozen times over the years, and it is always an enjoyable experience!
A Gem on the Island
I played this course for the first time and enjoyed every minute of my experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful the greens fee was very reasonable. I played 18 holes and took a cart the course was in excellent condition from tee to green. The fairways are a bit tight with a few doglegs that force you to play smart have noticed people complaining about the 90 degree rule for carts on the fairways but this is good and helps keep the fairways pristine. The greens are a bit quick but roll true and are very playable. The grounds crew does a fantastic job keeping the course in great condition. Golfers have to think their way around this course which sets this course apart from most public courses on the Island. I will be happy to call this my new home course.
challenging with great features
Play went very well only problem club house was not open for breakfast. We had a tee time for 6:45am would have been nice if you where able to get coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Most golfers complained about not having something to offer.
Thank you for playing Pine Ridge Golf Club. We strive to make the guest experience the best we can and seemed to have come up short this time. I understand your disappointment and would like to apologize. We do place the pins close to the edge of the greens this time of year in an effort to protect against turf loss for the upcoming season. There are also two holes in every green to rotate the pins so that we do not wear out the surface in one particular spot. The reason the cups are cut this way is because "usually" the greens are frozen this time of year and we are unable to cut new cups in the greens. I understand that this is not the case at this point this winter but we had anticipated colder weather patterns and went to this system as scheduled. Hopefully you will give us another opportunity and find your experience more enjoyable.
Thanks again for your comments.
