Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Pine Ridge Twosome
My girlfriend and I played this course after seeing it on GolfNow. She is from the area but we had not played it. I knew the other Billy Casper facilities I've played were fantastic for daily fee public courses and this one did not disappoint. The staff was friendly (lent us a women's driver free, her's is ancient), gave us a free yardage book, walked me through the holes, all before leaving the pro shop. The range is real grass which you can't beat. The course was not busy, although it was very hot out and the British Open final round was supposed to be that morning, but whatever. It took us just over 4 hours to play (slow for a twosome) but there were a couple foursomes in front of us so no worries.
The ranger was watching out for us, even found my golf ball a couple times, but I never complained about the pace. It would have been difficult to get us through three foursomes and we enjoyed not rushing anyway.
The clubhouse is nice, enjoyed a couple drinks after the round.
Course was in excellent condition for a public course. If it was a private club without a ton of play, maybe it could have been a little better, but no complaints whatsoever. Greens were consistent.
None of the holes were memorable, but it did remind me of playing in North Carolina with all of the pines.
Will definitely go back. Paid $78 each which is fine with me for a course that is in good condition, although I will look for a better deal next time.
7/19/15
Great course. Tree lined fairways. A few short par 4s and a few very long challenging par 4s. Course was in great conditions with the greens running fast. All the staff was very helpful and keep checking in with us during the round because there were 3 groups in front of us that we're ruining the pace of play. Overall good round and worth it if you can play cheaper than normal price.
Great Course and a Great Deal to Go With It!
Went out as a twosome and did not run into anyone else. Course had people out there, but everyone was moving at a good pace so that no one ran into the next group. Course was in fantastic condition with the greens running about a 10 (according to the pro) and everything was green and lush. Very tight course so if you are spraying the ball, you will have a very long day. The course isn't long, but the tough, large greens and narrow fairways more than make up for it. Have played the course about a dozen times over the years, and it is always an enjoyable experience!
A Gem on the Island
I played this course for the first time and enjoyed every minute of my experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful the greens fee was very reasonable. I played 18 holes and took a cart the course was in excellent condition from tee to green. The fairways are a bit tight with a few doglegs that force you to play smart have noticed people complaining about the 90 degree rule for carts on the fairways but this is good and helps keep the fairways pristine. The greens are a bit quick but roll true and are very playable. The grounds crew does a fantastic job keeping the course in great condition. Golfers have to think their way around this course which sets this course apart from most public courses on the Island. I will be happy to call this my new home course.
challenging with great features
Play went very well only problem club house was not open for breakfast. We had a tee time for 6:45am would have been nice if you where able to get coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Most golfers complained about not having something to offer.
Nice Unique Course
The course contains many fun holes without any feeling of repetition. The conditions were excellent and the staff was very friendly. The only negative is their cart rules. There are very few areas that carts are allowed. The paths are roped off making it impossible to drive to your ball for most of the holes.
Beautiful coarse
A beautiful coarse, challenging holes. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definately play here again.
good place
I love this place.
Fills like a Florida golf course
So clean and cozy and nice mood
Too Tight
Front nine of this golf course is way too tight, with too many doglegs. No need for a driver at all. You need to play this course with a GPS!!!
Friendly Staff
This was the first time playing here this year and wasn't sure I would even try it again after last summers experience but I'm glad my partner talked me into it. From the time we arrived everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy that we were there. The course itself was in better shape than most I've played recently. Greens were fast and true and we played in 4 hours and 15 minutes on a busy day. If I had to say anything negative it would be that we didn't see the beverage cart but 1 time. All in all, great day!
Let down
I've played here before and enjoyed this course. I was very let down. I was not notified that the course was punched and that there was a high school match going on so I didn't even get nine holes in. I would have no played had I known this. Wasted my money that day
Unbalanced
Nice course in good shape. Holes are unbalanced in length for the average golfer. 312, 405, 289, 290, 445, 305, 415, 445 par fours. No mid range par fours... odd. Par 5 are ok except for the 11th that plays 585 from the whites. All yardages from the whites. Front is fairly easy since only one of the really long par 4's come into play. The back is a bear starting at 11.
Course has some character to it
The overall condition of the course was very good, many holes make you think more into your 2nd and 3rd shot - greens were nice and quick
Great buy
Even after days of rain and a misty morning, greens were fast, smooth and rolling great. Cart path only due to wet conditions, but course was not so wet that play was affected. Good value.
A Real Treat
Pace of play just over 4 1/2; not bad for a LI public course. Fairways were in nice condition but the greens were beat up and a dissappointment. Plenty of trees left and right so you need to be a straight driver.
For the price through GolfNow it was well worth it.
Beautiful fairways and true greens
Wonderful course and great weather...but over 5&1/2 hours to play 18?! Good thing we paired up with great people!!
slow play on a good course
Course was in great shape greens fast and true however pace of play poor. The group in front of us had 2 holes open and no sense of urgency with us waiting on every shot from the third hole on .The two guys we played with were not good golfers but new to keep the pace of play which is all that matters. Great course need to be a ranger
Pine Ridge
The course is challenging. There are some easy holes but number 11 is the toughest on the course.
Great course
Great course to plan and I am daintily going back.
It was golf weather index 10 kind of weather when we played and we had very good time playing on the course.

The fairways being roped off is why the course is in great shape carts will ruin a fairway
