Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Unbalanced
Nice course in good shape. Holes are unbalanced in length for the average golfer. 312, 405, 289, 290, 445, 305, 415, 445 par fours. No mid range par fours... odd. Par 5 are ok except for the 11th that plays 585 from the whites. All yardages from the whites. Front is fairly easy since only one of the really long par 4's come into play. The back is a bear starting at 11.
Course has some character to it
The overall condition of the course was very good, many holes make you think more into your 2nd and 3rd shot - greens were nice and quick
Great buy
Even after days of rain and a misty morning, greens were fast, smooth and rolling great. Cart path only due to wet conditions, but course was not so wet that play was affected. Good value.
A Real Treat
Pace of play just over 4 1/2; not bad for a LI public course. Fairways were in nice condition but the greens were beat up and a dissappointment. Plenty of trees left and right so you need to be a straight driver.
For the price through GolfNow it was well worth it.
Beautiful fairways and true greens
Wonderful course and great weather...but over 5&1/2 hours to play 18?! Good thing we paired up with great people!!
slow play on a good course
Course was in great shape greens fast and true however pace of play poor. The group in front of us had 2 holes open and no sense of urgency with us waiting on every shot from the third hole on .The two guys we played with were not good golfers but new to keep the pace of play which is all that matters. Great course need to be a ranger
Pine Ridge
The course is challenging. There are some easy holes but number 11 is the toughest on the course.
Great course
Great course to plan and I am daintily going back.
It was golf weather index 10 kind of weather when we played and we had very good time playing on the course.
Challenging
Challenging course, forces you to use the right club off the tee and place it where it needs to be. My only negative feedback is that on a lot of par 4's the fairways are roped off. Too much walking for having a cart.
Nice afternoon at Pine Ridge.
The weather was excellent, the staff very helpful, the facilities very nice and clean. Overall service at the course was very good..
As for the conditions of the course itself, the fairways were in good condition considering how late in the season.. Although they were recently air rated, it didn't interfere with the ball.
The greens were a bit bumpy at times, which did affect the lines. Some greens were perfectly fine, Overall the consistency of the greens was average. The bunkers were hard with about 1 inch of loose sand to work with. I enjoyed spending a lot of time on the beaches throughout the day. :)
rough greens and fairways
maintanence appears lacking, golf carts dirty with dirty coolers. greens lumpy ball marks all over.
Fairways
The course was a great challenge to play too bad the fairways were with a lot of divots that people did not fix them. Overall great experience
Greens & fairways in great shape.
I was pleasantly surprised on the overall appearance
of the entire facility, although it was always pretty
good. The pace was moving reasonably well to
finish in just over 4 hours. We all enjoyed the round,
we'll be returning soon.
Punishing layout
The course doesn't have much in the way of rough or fairway bunkers opting instead to line every hole with woods. Instead of the common recipe of course design, fairway, rough, bunker, trees, most holes were fairway, trees, leading to some very inflated scores. Some dog legs are 90* turns leaving even great drives in impossible positions to approach the green. Greens were exceptionally hard with dozens and dozens of old divot scars. Bunkers were collapsing at the edges, while some had grass growing in them. I was very unimpressed by the course and it's condition. The clubhouse was adequate and staff was very friendly. It was fairly inexpensive but there are several other courses that are much more enjoyable for the same greens fee.
Crazy lay out, slow play on the front
Backed up 35 minutes at 9am, can't drive on fairways on front so play is super slow. Would be better off walking! Front 9 is more like pitch and putt distances with challenging greens to reach. No halfway house because of crazy layout. Back 9 is more traditional but by that time you'll be pretty frustrated with the course and probably off your game.
great day great course
I like this course, particularly the layout. Quite a nice mixture of holes and the course was in excellent condition. The greens were in top shape and putting was challenging.
The course is looking good
The course looks great and the staff Is super friendly. We got out early 6:24a on a Thursday and played in 3hr 15min. At $44 it's a great value and a well spent morning. The rough is grown in nicely and the native grasses are well placed and penal.
The course must be getting a lot of volume as there's Quite a bit of unrepaired pitch marks on greens and divots on fairways
A good test of golf
Pine Ridge is a very nice facility with reasonable rates. The course is very challenging even when played from the appropriate tees. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Great fairway, even greater greens!
I don't know how they keep up the fairways and greens in such great shape with the traffic they get here. Really enjoyed great afternoon of golf with fast gliding green, great pace and as usual, friendly staffs all around!
