Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Great day of golf
Ray, Mike, Ed and all the staff at Pine Ridge are such a pleasure. Great customer service and always with a smile. From the pro shop check in, to cart retrieval, to starter interaction, rangers on the course, snack cart, course maintenance crew, all staff were so genuine and friendly. Course was in great shape and pace of play was perfect for a Sun afternoon, only 4hrs and 20mins for our 2some, that was behind a 3some and a few 4somes. I'll definitely play there again.
good course, great staff
course has gotten better over the past few years, particularly the greens.
Nice layout
While you are playing you never have to worry about other golfers playing in the fairway next to you. It's very safe and no distractions. Gives you a very private feel. Nice pace to the game and staff was friendly.
Needs improvement
I have played here a few times this year, and the only thing getting better are the greens which are finally healing from aeration...I know the weather hasn't been the greatest, but that should've prompted a later aeration schedule, so you don't wind up with greens still healing over a month later, along with everything else that isn't close to 100% ("rough" on the side of fairways non-existent, lots of bare patches, and packed dirt in bunkers)...with that said, Ray in the pro shop is amazing and really makes the experience a bit better...overall it's not terrible, but, and with all due respect, I think Billy Casper Golf should do something about this property if they are going to continue to have their name associated with it
Great Sape
Played the course with two others. It was great to see sunshine and green grass again. Don't let the length of the course on your score card full you. It may be a short par 4 but they make you use all the shots and then some if you don't put your dive in the right location. Only issues I saw were the 5 or 6 holes that are cart path only. It makes it hard for people with issues to move along smoothly. I'm looking forward to playing again.
Slow play
Starter sent out two foursomes that knew each other and the way they played was terrible. Not complaining on how they played but they had no golf etiquette. Took forever on the tees and even though they weren't long hitters waited forever to hit up. The course need a ranger to move along slow players.
Bad Experience
The round started off poorly and didn't get any better. We showed up 45 minutes prior to our tee time and there were no carts available. After waiting 40 minutes, I asked an employee when I could expect a cart and reminded him that my round was to start in 5 minutes and his reply was “Well I guess you will be starting your round late!” After we finally received our cart, the starter was giving us the rundown of the course conditions and told us that the course was just aerated. He must of seen the surprised look on our face (since this was not disclosed to us prior, not even during the booking process on Golf Now) because he told us not to worry, the greens are in great shape. That was a big lie. The greens were more bumpy than if I were to putt down the road. And it wasn’t just the greens. The fairways were also aerated. You could see each and every putt on every hole bounce up and down and roll left and right as it hit each aeration plug. I understand that courses need to aerate, but I should be told up front so that I can decide if I want to play in those conditions or not. The pace of play was horrible. First 4 holes took us over 90 minutes to play. The course played extremely short since the tee boxes were moved up for some reason. I will not play this course again. There are too many other great courses to play.
Short
The pretty much make u play from either the senior or woman's tee box....only hit driver on 6,8,12,13,18....and probably only needed it on 8...no sand in bunkers but it's early and green were in nice conditions..
don't play here
don't play here!
all delay.......poor staff........
Very challenging coudrse
Very nice course. It was a challenge course. Each hole keep us thinking loved it.
well maintained for hot summer on LI
I'd play here again good experience
very convenient
greens were being repaired and it was a terrible job,
T Boxes need a lot of work
Great first course
First time ever playing there and had a blast, great course for beginners and everything is nice and spread out.
Pine Ridge
The staff was great! It was approximately 100 degrees and the clubhouse manager gave us a discount and a bottle of water just bc of how hot it was. I am definitely going back soon
What happened?
I played Pine Ridge a year ago and loved it. It's tight, requres accuracy off the tee, and the course was in great shape. A lot has changed in the last year.
There is no rough if you miss a fairway, just hardpan and sand from the cart paths. The fairways are spotty and soft, it hasn't rained in a week and the fairways are sponges in some areas and concrete it others. The greens were hard as rocks. Balls bounced off of them, and they're riddled with dead ball spots.
The pace of play was brutal. It took over 5 hours. We didn't see a ranger once. We saw an older gentleman riding around and when we asked if he was a range or if he could help with the pace of play, he said "there isnt a ranger today". Brutal.
I really hope this course bounces back, maybe the heat of summer is wearing on the course. I like to drive out east to play a nice course in 4 hours. It wasn't worth the drive today.
Great Value for a fun round !
I have played this course many times . I always enjoy my round at Pine Ridge. I will be returning
Great course!
Beautiful course and very friendly staff. I highly recommend it. The course is very playable but has some difficult par 5s.

Thank you for the review. I would like to apologize for the slow play and understand no one likes to play in 5 hours. The course will have a links feel in the summer with a more traditional feel in the spring and fall. We appreciate you as a guest an hope you will give us another try.
