Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Fun
Play this course a couple times a year and it's always a lot of fun. Not long but still tricky. Greens were super fast.
Fast Greens
We played from the tips its is a very hard course from there. Example: #1 handicap hole is a 491 yard par 4. Not being that long I had to hit 3 great shots...nice chip off the back of the green and 1 putt for my bogey. Love fast Greens. People need to learn to fix ball marks on the greens but overall conditions were good.
slow play
This coarse is usually in good shape. Greens had at lot of ball and cleat marks, Fairways burnt. Play was extremely slow
WHAT HAPPENED?
THE GOLF CARTS ARE ONE STEP FROM THE JUNK YARD. THE GREENS ARE FULL OF BALL MARKS. THE FAIRWAYS ARE LOADED WITH DIVOTS. THE COURSE LOOKS LIKE IT IS NOT BEING MAINTAINED WELL AT ALL. I PLAYED HERE A FEW YEARS AGO AND THE COURSE WAS MUCH BETTER THEN.
Pine Ridge Long Island golf
One of the worst kept courses I've ever played on.
I apologize for the negative experience recently. As you know we had a substantial amount of rain that soften the golf course. This rain washed out paths and made divots and ball marks more pronounced. We thank you for understanding and look forward to having you back.
Loved this course
Played this course for the first time in January. Found it challenging. I am a fairly new golfer - course was challenging to me. Well kept and a good time golfing there. I returned 2 more times since. The bar/restaurant is nice, staff is great and the prices reasonable.
Did not like the fact that we could not take the carts onto the fairways on most of the holes. Fairways were dry. It made the round slow having to walk across the fairways and not knowing the distance and which club to bring. One of my group has trouble walking so for him it was especially hard. Most courses I play allow carts except when wet conditions
Great day of golf
Ray, Mike, Ed and all the staff at Pine Ridge are such a pleasure. Great customer service and always with a smile. From the pro shop check in, to cart retrieval, to starter interaction, rangers on the course, snack cart, course maintenance crew, all staff were so genuine and friendly. Course was in great shape and pace of play was perfect for a Sun afternoon, only 4hrs and 20mins for our 2some, that was behind a 3some and a few 4somes. I'll definitely play there again.
good course, great staff
course has gotten better over the past few years, particularly the greens.
Nice layout
While you are playing you never have to worry about other golfers playing in the fairway next to you. It's very safe and no distractions. Gives you a very private feel. Nice pace to the game and staff was friendly.
Needs improvement
I have played here a few times this year, and the only thing getting better are the greens which are finally healing from aeration...I know the weather hasn't been the greatest, but that should've prompted a later aeration schedule, so you don't wind up with greens still healing over a month later, along with everything else that isn't close to 100% ("rough" on the side of fairways non-existent, lots of bare patches, and packed dirt in bunkers)...with that said, Ray in the pro shop is amazing and really makes the experience a bit better...overall it's not terrible, but, and with all due respect, I think Billy Casper Golf should do something about this property if they are going to continue to have their name associated with it
