Nice day Photo submitted by frankiejo63 on 04/09/2019
WALKING ONLY!
90 degree weather, 100% humidity and told walking only after checking in. I've never experienced before. T- boxes in terrible shape. Corse is way past it's prime...Quit after 8 holes. Total ripoff. Save your $$.
Decent course but very tight fairways
No carts no push carts carried 18 on a 90+ degree day. No ball cleaners at tee boxes or benches. The course it’s self was good but probably wouldn’t come back for another round here.
Disappointing conditions
Positives are the greens which are very full smooth and playable. Maintenance is lacking especially in and around the bunkers. Crab grass emerging in most bunkers. It looks like they haven’t been raked in months. The tee grounds need to be leveled as every tee area has a center crown as well as thin grass coverage. Hard to find a level lie. Rumor that a housing development is coming. Too bad if true as this was a nicely conditioned and fairly priced option in past seasons.
sand traps
Course was in good shape, greens and fairway but the sand traps need a lot of work. the wsand is very hard, and not groomed at all
So much potential
I’ve always wanted to play this course but they obviously have major problems with their irrigation system including a mini swamp ground-under- repair in the fringe of the first green and many areas of hard pan everywhere. Tee boxes are cupped so you are hard pressed to find a level area to tee on almost every hole. One tee box had an 18” crater in it. $20 each to rent a cart just added insult to injury.
You get what you pay for
Most tee boxes were not level. Ball was either above or below feet. Slow greens. A few holes crossed others or were close that you had to watch out. Course was dry. I was convinced there was no irrigation system. If you were off fairway, some areas were just hard pan.
Time To Move Up
This course presents a challenge. When I can no longer clear the pond on the 11th from the white tees, it is time to move up.
Horrible course conditions
We've played this course many times in the past but this was our first time playing there this year. These were by far the worst conditions we've encountered this season anywhere on Long Island. Hump that runs down the center of almost every tee box has only seemed to have gotten worse, fairways look like they has some sort of disease and felt like concrete. All in all terrible conditions and experience
Too much walking
Overall very nice course- however, there are too many roped off areas where carts can’t go- I had to walk way too much and was really exhausted
Average course
We started our round 30 minutes late. Seems they value outings over public play. Nothing special I give it a 5/10.
