Grey Hawk Golf Club
About
Grey Hawk Golf Club is a challenging but playable course that is a Cleveland area favorite. It brings resort-quality golf to a remote location in LaGrange that is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The rolling landscape is the ideal terrain for links-style golf. The course demands accuracy with lightning fast greens surrounded by bunkers and be sure not to stray from the fairways or you'll almost definitely be left with an uneven lie. Unlike a typical links golf course, there are water hazards coming into play on several holes on this layout. The 11th hole features a tricky island green while the third hole has an equally challenging "island green" that is surrounded by sand. Grey Hawk Golf Club is a formidable but fair test with interesting and diverse hole designs.

Great staff
We had an early start and got behind a ground playing a behind a group of 7 that’s right 7. We called the club house and before we were on the next tee box the group was split up and over picked up tremendously.
Improvements
Over the last 10 years this course has seen better days. However within the last 2 to 3 years significant improvements have occurred. While they still have a ways to go to bring it back to where it was in 2007 or 2008 the tea boxes Fairways and greens are very playable. We played it today in very wet conditions. The ball did not travel far so it played very long. I believe that players would enjoy playing this course under better weather conditions.
GreyHawk + Wind = Difficulty
Nice warm afternoon, but brutally windy, and holes like Island Green #11 is not easy into the wind. For so early in the season, the greens are running well, and fairways are good. Course is surprisingly dry, only a few mud-puddles on the sides. As a single off GN, I joined a Member, and we both enjoyed the day -- except for getting hammered by the wind (which affected our putting). At any rate, enjoy the challenges at GreyHawk, and the improvements (especially if you haven't played here in a while).
Challenging Coarse
I like playing this challenging course. It was in great shape and there was no wait. It seems like they have been taking better care of the course the last few years.
Fabulous golf course
We golfed at this course on 4/26/2018 course was very wet, but the staff has the course looking very nice for the golf season starting off so late, great job, looking forward to golfing this course again
Too early to tell how nice the shape of the course will be this year but it’s trending in the right direction.
Good shape
Overall good course. Although, there was roughly 20 people out on the course with the 1st group starting 4 holes ahead of us, we caught up to them by the turn and called it quits as the play was turtle pace slow.
Grey Hawk
What a really nice & challenging course! Especially from the white or blue tees! We played it the first time last week & we loved it so much we came back this week! The signature 11th is just amazing! We drive over an hour to play Grey Hawk! It is well worth the drive! Also their restaurant has very good food! Thanks
Great Day
The course was fantastic, difficult enough but not "tricked up". Was in very nice condition, the only thing that could have made it better was if the greens were just a little faster. The Clubhouse is beautiful with a great restaurant and bar area and a really nice patio. The staff was very friendly in the Pro-shop and in the Restaurant. Laura showed us around the entire place and was terrific! Will definitely be back!
Great Shape
Got. Golf now deal. Course was in great shape. It is a challenging course but was pleasantly surprised how well kept the course was considering how little rain we've had. Pace of play was pretty bad but there was just one group of slow pokes and 6 groups of frustrated golfers behind them. Overall, still a good time.
Awesome Time
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent on a Friday afternoons.
Excellent course!
This is a great course it really has everything you could want in a golf course.
Back in great shape again and enjoyable
The layout of this course was never a problem. It is a collection of 18 memorable holes that all stand unique, challenging, and fun to play. The problem was how it fell into such disarray. That problem is being corrected successfully! The shape was very good. Greens rolled great. Clubhouse is excellent. Hole 7 is reminiscent of Augusta 13 and number 11 is tougher than Sawgrass 17. Longer, smaller green and always into the wind. A must play in the area.
Great Course Layout
What a great golf course. Every hole was unique & challenging. Just aerated. Course still very playable! A super course! We will definitely play again very soon! The staff were very nice & extremely helpful for our 1st time playing! Great food as well! Thanks
Driving range without net
No net lots of balls on hole behind. Was hard to find ball if yellow
Greens awesome prior to aeration
Awesome weather & best time to play GH is without windy conditions. Greens are great, hold good shots & fast. Pro is good guy, always pairs me up well. For me, if I can play 7-9&11 w/o lost water-bath, I'm going to score well.
Mid September Review
This was the first time I have played Grey Hawk this year. It is one of the best designs in the area. It is a big modern course, it is wide, fairly long. Every hole is unique, no two holes are close to being the same. Mainly a links style, but look out for hole 7, 8, & 9, they are have more trees, and are three of the toughest hole in the area.
We played Sunday afternoon, we played in 5:25 minutes, it was slow. There was an event in front of us, possibly the reason for the slow play. The conditions were average at best, bunkers were all in good shape. The rough had several areas roped off, from being burnt out (this has been the case for as long as I have been playing this course).
It is a fun tough course. The weather has been dry and hot, so I am fairly forgiving of the burnt out grass, but maintenance is the biggest issue for Grey Hawk. Two island greens, on in water and one on sand.
