The Bridges Golf Club
About
The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

Greens are horrible
Greens had been aerated and sanded a week earlier (unbeknowst to us) and were essentially unreadable.
Tee boxes in avg shape and many not level or flat.
Driving Range was closed due to recent rain.
Not Great
Seems like every course in the Dallas area has given up. Dirt tee boxes, greens are sanded. Can’t tell where the fairway begins and ends. Was hoping Bridges wouldn’t be like the others but it’s not even worth going out anymore. Left after 9 holes
Tee boxes in poor condition. Course layout is good, fairways still to fully come out of winter conditioning. Greens had just been sanded but size and shape was challenging. Enjoyed the round will be interesting to see how it looks next month.
Staff was awesome at every turn, very friendly, very helpful… Bar and Grill has what you need and a good selection of beers… Super fun course layout, plenty of length for everyone… Looks like it’s still slightly recovering from out hot Texas summers and not enough water, the greens were in great shape, plenty of undulation, some of them two tiered, cool shapes, just a tad too firm, as were the fairways and boxes( you’re gonna get some British open style long rollouts) … Would definitely play again
Never disappoints
Hidden gem! Best course conditions and value out there. Great friendly staff and always plays at a good pace even on Sundays. Greens are challenging, fairways are wide open. Love the Bridges at Gunter, TX.
Love this course!
Absolutely great course! Greens are always emaculate. Long from the tips. Almost 7700 yards. A little bit of a drive but well worth it. Extremely affordable. With a lot of courses being overpriced, The Bridges is worth the trip. Great golf association too.
Bridges in Gunter
Greens in great shape a little fast, Fairways very hittable. The layout is Challenging. All in all one of the best courses in the DFW area.
Course in Horrible Shape
I paid 70$ to play this course and i have played here for over 10 years. It was a goat ranch, no discount for basically winter golf. Plus it was a Tuesday. We were hit into twice by two different groups, members just walked up on the tee box and played through didn't even ask. The group of kids behind them hit into us on the same hole with no apologies, one of the balls hit me in the leg which made me very angry. Course was in horrible shape, not worth the money and wont go back. Staff doesn't care unless you are a member.
Built in the country but not a country course
This is a fun, challenging track built out in the countryside of North Texas. The greens were in really good condition for coming out of the winter season, rolling really well and doing what you would expect. Fairways were in decent shape but definitely need some good warm days to really come back to life. Tee boxes were very poor with many of them needing to be resodded or reseeded. There are 5 teeboxes, forward, white, blue, gold, and black. Good putting greens and driving range to warm up with. No GPS on carts, bring a rangefinder!
Will be fantastic as usual when it greens
I love the Bridges. It’s one of my favorite north DFW courses. It will be fantastic when the fairways green up.
Wait until May
Poor shape, everything brown, just a few shoots of green starting to come up. No winter overseed. I know from experience it will come back- just won’t play there till May.
Great Time
The course was beautiful and was easy to follow the layout. It was freshly seeded so some areas were rough but still manageable. Even when you were off the fairway finding your golf ball wasn’t difficult and can get into position without much trouble
Bridges Gunter
Peaceful Monday out there - tees selection lets you bite off all you can handle. Variety of approach shots is unmatched around the metroplex.
Bridges, Gunter
I just find it peaceful out there. If you found the right day, it can feel like you’re the only one on the course. Greens were great - fast and true. The variety of approach, due to the size of the greens, is hard to find anywhere else. I love its challenges.
