The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

Lots of Construction

New house construction everywhere so a lot of the beautiful trees have been removed. Greens are ok, this place is windy on most days.

Greens & tee boxes starting to green up

I enjoy playing The Bridges- challenging layout- and dormant grass now showing signs of greening up. I normally play during the week and appreciate that I can play as single when there are openings in tee times.

Greens

Wow, very fast greens and every one of them has a challenging hump. Front nine was slow with no marshal but the foursome in front of us bailed at the turn.

Great Day For Golf

My friends and I play this course about 9 to 10 times a year. It's a fun challenge with hole 6 and 18 being my favorites. 6 doesn't look too difficult until you get to the green. 18 good luck.

Summer’s coming

I play here a lot- but all the new home construction and winter dormant conditions had course playing rough, but this week I can see that greens and tee boxes are starting to green up, pretty soon the fairways will start growing too. So it’s improving! Now just stop all the new home construction & it’d be perfect…. But I know that’s not possible ☹️

New Home construction

They are adding new Phase to current subdivision, and that means a lot of heavy equipment working along fairways and greens as they clear land and put in new roads and infrastructure. Nothing like trying to make putt with Beep, Beep, Beep blaring loudly next to green. I like this course, but it’s going to be tough to play for a while with all work going on.

GolfNow Hate

The course was in good shape, especially considering the morning started off at 26°. By the time we teed off, it was 43°with a light breeze. The bunkers were not great though. They were soaking wet and really not playable. The greens were in great shape… true and fast. The fairways were in great shape with no real bare spots. The pace was ok. The threesome in front of us was playing a BIG money game, so they were over analyzing every shot, but they were good golfers, so the only hold up was on the greens.

Recently, I’ve noticed that there seems to be an animosity towards uses of GolfNow. That was more evident today at The Bridges than at any golf course I’ve played. The guy that checked us in was rude and acted like we didn’t belong. He literally seemed annoyed that we used GN. If the course is going to accept GN tee times and rates, those players should be treated just like a customer who pays the regular course rates. If they don’t like GN, then stop participating!

Rant over!

Filling Up with Houses

Really enjoyed this course that will eventually be wrung with houses on every hole. However, if one gets out there now more than half the holes have no houses on them. This wil soon change as the streets for the back 9’were being built.

Course was in good condition with many memorable holes. I really enjoyed undulating greens. Must play if in the area.

Great bang for your buck

It was middle of November and the weather was great, the course was really well kept considering the price and the time of year. Finished the round in 3 hours and 40 ish minutes while playing in a 2-some waiting on most shots. The layout was awesome, nestled into rolling hills of cattle land, there were amazing views of the pastures and a great sunset view. They also did an amazing job including the nature in the layout, tons of meandering creek beds and tree lines, it still felt like a links style course though. A lot of the holes were longer (which works for me) but they made sure to sprinkle in touch shot holes, they had a par 5 on the front that they followed up with a 280 yard par 4 that had a narrow sloping green, I managed to get it into the bunker on the left and had 10 yards to the hole, 5 chip shots later and a triple bogey was laid in my lap. I don’t mind the challenges created from holes like that. The greens had been aerated pretty recently but still rolled well. I figured I would play this course to see how it was, now I can’t wait to see what it’s like in the spring/summer time. 100% will be back, what an awesome track.

Great course

Second time I’ve played here. Just as great as first time. Course in excellent condition. Greens were punched about 6-8 weeks ago and in really good shape. Definitely recommend it. Be ware though, in the wind this is a beast of a course!
