The Bridges Golf Club

About
The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

Fun Course but Outrageous Drink Prices!
Plus, we had a foursome behind us that complained about how slow we were off the first tee. For the rest of the round, they were always one of two holes behind us. But we got backed up on 18, and they drove their second shots and their approach shots into us.I was standing on the green and one of my buddies yelled, "Watch out!" A ball hit the green and rolled harmlessly past me.
When it stopped and out of courtesy, I putted his ball for him, but missed the hole. Ooops! Penalty! The ball somehow found its way into the pond.
We did not report them to the clubhouse, but you know who you are, so please be more respectful.
Fun course, sky high drink prices
Most expensive drink prices you will find this side of a private club.
Lack of Info
The course was in decent shape. The issue is the range is closed for weeks and they don’t tell you this ahead of time. You also have to be aware that they allow 5somes during weekdays and don’t care how slow they are playing. I know this because I called the clubhouse on the back 9 and they didn’t care. I don’t need to drive 50 minutes to play this slow and not get to warm up on the range. I don’t plan on returning.
Slow!!!!!
Teed off at 11 am on a Tuesday. Over 5 hour 40 minute round, there was a junior tourney playing so we were patient but the organizers of the event were fine with twosomes playing 20 minutes per hole. It became unpleasant because the groups behind us were all jammed as well, we had two foursomes waiting on each tee box, it sucks playing with groups right on top of you.
Course is great and in good condition maybe I’ll try playing again, the two guys we got paired with play regularly there and also complained that it’s generally slow play and 5 hour rounds are the norm.
Lack of information
The course was in good shape but the range was closed and the website or clubhouse didn’t communicate this. Also apparently 5somes are allowed on weekdays regardless of how slow they are playing. I called the clubhouse and they didn’t care how slow they were playing. I would have given a higher rating but not informing people of the range being closed and not caring about the pace of play doesn’t deserve more stars.
Careful of Tournaments
Got stuck behind a tournament, the marshalls were not present at all. Even after the tournament, the pace never changed. Started 40 minutes late. Took 6 hours for the round in the Texas heat. Clubhouse staff were nice, but the Marshall basically came out once on hole 2 and said "yeah, its tough, oh well" and drove away. Will not be returning as I don't want to drive 40 minutes each way for a total of 8 hours from leaving my house to returning after the round.
They need a marshall
There was a foursome 2 groups in front of us that were EXTREMELY slow- after hole 10 I cut up to 14 to get by them- There was NO one on holes 14,15,16,17 or 18 at that time- That is how slow that group was!!
Worth the trip out of the metro area
I have played here at least a half dozen times and enjoy myself each time. The course is in good condition noting the rough seems higher than usual but not supposed to be there anyway. The only knock is temporary as they are doing drainage improvements at the range so the range is closed, reportedly until about the first of July. Otherwise, it can be a tricky layout with some of the holes set up pretty long and the greens are not flat pancakes, you have to be able to judge speed and distance well
Amazing course
This course never lets me down! Such a good design and is a fun but yet challenging course! Would play it every time if I could!
Staff was fun and helpful
Great course greens were tough but I left there a beter golfer. Everyone abd everything was in perfect condition. Thr marshals were helpfull and fun.
Terrible Fathers Day Round
I expected a somewhat slow round on Father’s Day weekend but the course let multiple small children, talking 2-3 years old out on the course. People letting kids hit shots, multiple kids driving golf carts by themselves. Groups of 6-8 people playing together. In short the course did a very poor job of managing the crowd. I have never seen so many wives and kids under 5 on a golf course before. It was miserable.
Slow with no help.
Played on a Saturday. There was a Marshall when we started. Played a solid 1hr 50 min front only to play 3hr 25min on the back. Called the club they said they would send someone out, they did not. So we watched a group a 8 do cartwheels, drive on the green, have a child drive a cart alone as they crammed three into another cart and not let anyone play through.
