The Bridges Golf Club
About
The Fred Couples Signature course is the centerpiece of the Bridges at Preston Crossing. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills that most don't associate with north Texas. Mature trees dot the lush meadows, sliced with ribbons of tall native grasses. The parkland layout has a fair amount of challenges and it is especially tough on a windy day. There are subtle but tricky contours thanks to the undulating landscape and several strategically placed bunkers lurk throughout. Water is not too much of a threat on this golf course, except for the memorable finishing hole. This beastly par 5 lays measures 645 yards and wraps around a massive water hazard. The Bridges is a local favorite because not only is it a challenging round, it is also an affordable one.

The Bridges was a Treat!
This is the first time I played The Bridges since 3 weeks after it opened. I'm less than 30 minutes away and wonder why I haven't played here since! The course was in great shape and the staff was phenomenal. Pace of play was excellent as we played in just under 4 hours and 20 minutes. Perfect for a Sunday! We will be back for sure!!
Great Course! Really enjoyed it. The greens had just been punched so were still very bumpy. That was the only thing that I wasn’t happy about. Everything else was great. Need to come back when the greens are back to normal because they said they usually roll around an 11! And hole 18 was one of the coolest hole designs I’ve ever played!
Green Conditions and Pin Locations
The greens had been punched at some point and the ball would hit a hole and change the roll, but all in all the course was in great shape and challenging as always.
Nice Course Greens Being Aerated
Enjoy this course but advance notice on Greens condition would have been appreciated
Great Layout
The course design is great. Challenging but it rewards good shots. Tee boxes and fairways are starting to dry out so hopefully they start watering more soon. Will definitely come back.
Great course
This course is very nice. I enjoy every time I play. This time was cut short due to a group playing a bit slow and holding up 5-6 groups behind them. I will be back soon to play another round.
Good Times
The open landscapes and clear blue skies doesn’t fell like North Texas. Great outside services and pro shop staff.
Great course outside DFW
The Bridges never really disappoints. The course is normally in very playable condition. Greens role true and can be a bit speedy. I really like this course. It’s very scoreable from whites/blues, but can be extremely tough from gold/tips, especially on windy days, which is most of the times since it’s out in a pasture-like environment.
Faultless and well worth the drive
I echo many others who have written reviews on this course. It's in immaculate condition, the greens were fast and in perfect condition. All staff are friendly. It's the best value for money I have experienced, so take the extra time to drive there - you won't regret it!
Won't open their Driving Range, rough was overgrown, slow pace
I've played this course twice. Both times, they wouldn't open their driving range. In this latest episode, the staff at the pro shop said that it was because the contractor maintenance crew had not yet shown up to do their work. Note that there was no rain or other weather related reason, just that "they hadn't come yet and we don't know if they will."
The grass looked mown. There were other maintenance crew working. I'm at a loss to understand why they can't hand our range balls. The fact that it happened both times, over a year apart tells me this is a very poorly managed golf course.
On the day we were there, they had a kids summer camp underway. They took over the entire putting green and we were told to putt on the chipping green, so there was a throng of golfers all over the chipping green.
As it came closer to our tee time, I noticed the summer camp had moved over to the driving range and you guess it, they were hitting balls. So the putting green and the driving range were made available to the summer camp (about a dozen kids) but not to the patrons who pay for (and expect) these facilities.
The course itself is in good shape but beware that there are very few trees around this course and so its totally exposed to the Texas wind.
Its also worth noting that the rough was often only six or eight feet and then they just didn't mow the prairie grass beyond that and you often could not find your golf ball in it. So my buddy who hit wayward shots out into that stuff lost 8 golf balls over the course of the day.
The pace of play was also very slow, having to wait to tee off on every hole, even though all the groups ahead of us were in carts. We saw no marshalls all day.
I'm never going back and I doubt he will either. Skip this course. There are much better experiences in the area.
