Pin Placement
The key is be on Correct level on the Green ! The Greens are true and ungulating
Beautiful views, incredibly slow play. Quit after 9 holes - took three hours. No Marshall in sight.
Pacific Ocean Breezes
Glen Annie golf club in the foothills above Santa Barbara is surrounded with palm trees, lemon and avocado orchards and stunning views of the ocean and islands. Located just minutes from the Santa Barbara airport this challenging course features cliff hanger tee boxes lofting over canyons and creeks , long manicured fairways dog legging around wildlife filled water hazards and ravines. Professionally maintained with kind and friendly staff with a cozy bar , fireplace and patios to enjoy dining and cocktails. Playing this course is like a vacation get away every time I play it.
Glen Annie vs others
Glen Annie’s views from several elevated tees of Goleta and the coastline are spectacular, and the course has enough good holes for my recommendation . I just wish it was an easier walk for most people, especially for us seniors, but it’s not.
Find a way to speed up the pace!
I understand slow rounds on the weekend but mid-week and it's still so slow I skipped 2 holes just because I couldn't hang on any longer. As others have mentioned the bunkers are terrible but the greens are great. It's on par with SB Muni and it should be better.
Glen Annie has seen better days
I grew up in Goleta and have been playing this course for many years. It used to be my favorite course in the SB area. For the last few years, the grounds have been very, very poor. There’s pretty much zero sand in every bunker and you’re hitting out of dirt, rocks & mud. The fairways are in decent condition. The greens are great! But around the greens on most holes is pretty rough. Overall its pretty disappointing playing Glen Annie these days and certainly not worth what they’re charging. I’m a member at Sandpiper as well as Glen Annie. Sandpiper grounds are 10x better and I can play there for the same price or even cheaper. Glen Annie is simply not maintained/managed well.
I like the layout
The track is a little quirky but after a couple times it gets better - Sunday was slow but should be expected. I will play again and enjoy every minute.
6 hours for 18holes
I like the course, but management has decided to PACK the tee times in so tight that it took 6hrs to play 18. We waited on every shot, starting at the first tee!
Back side Billy Goat
The front side plays well, knowing the front would have been a true advantage. The back is kind of billy goat meats miniature golf! Hilly, unfair lies, blind shots, fall off greens, questionable yardage . I’m an average golfer, now that I’ve played this course, I see no reason to have to play it again….
Sand traps are absolute concrete. Not worth playing out of unless you want to brake a club
Amazing views and greens, fairway and bunkers are horrible
I play this course often and the greens are great. The bunkers and fairways are really bad for the price of a round. $98 is really a horrible price when you have sandpiper down the road for a couple more bucks. The potential is there but man did they let he fairways go unfortunately. I want to have better things to say since it’s a home course but I only scramble here now with buddies. I’d play there more if fairways were similar to the greens
Love this course!
Best course ever, it's green, gorgeous and challenging. Fun on the back nine including 3 cliff shots into the canyons. Many holes with ocean and island views. Low key, easy to park, friendly staff, good food and great cocktails. I golf here twice a week for years and love it each time.
a don't miss course
Always fun, challenging but fair, watch your speed on high side of greens, don't get disappointed when you can't reach first green- it gets better
Terrible Condition, brutally long round
The greens were recently punched, so I can deal with that. But the tee boxes were in terrrible shape, it was almost as if they looked for the most rough and uneven area that had the least amount of grass. The "sand traps" were basically dried clay holes that were about as sandy as a baseball infield. You'd break your clubs (or wrists) trying to hit a shot out of theis dry lake bed. The round took almost 5 1/2 hours to play. Brutal
Course In terrible shape
The tee boxes were terrible. The greens were bumpy. The "sand traps" were dry lakes beds of hardened clay. The round took 5hr 15 minutes to play
