Course conditions are improving a d the greens were in a great state today.
Not so much the course but the clientele
The pace of play is the worst I've experienced. Typical inner city entitlement-- groups with people that couldn't play, groups with people that thought it was the Ryder Cup.
No one playing READY golf
No one calling you through
Not to mention people walking their dogs thinking they own the joint.
Everyone has to learn some time, 100%.
But some self awareness please.
Don't go out at 12.30pm on a Sunday, maybe pick a quieter day or time.
Or stick to barefoit bowls.
Greens very poor
Having a course so close to home is a plus but it feels very poorly maintained. The greens are in such a bad state that your putting game is impacted . This takes some
Joy out of the game.
Many of tee boxes are made of cement with fake turf on top. Some of the turf is impossible to get a tee into, again your game feels impacted as you have to modify your shot for the tee boxes.
Bistro closed down . Hopefully something news pops up soon.
I have a love hate relationship here. Beautiful to walk along the cooks. Nice to see lots of young people playing golf. Love the casual nature in some ways and the price is more affordable but ultimately I do get frustrated by the course maintenance.
Marrickville golf
It’s was just to busy there on a Saturday after the competition finished to many people on this course plus waiting too tee of was 1 pm didn’t tee of till 1:30pm plus greens are very bad too much problems with the greens won’t be playing there again
Many high handicappers on course made play slow
25 minutes to wait before we could tee off. Waiting at most holes took 10 or more minutes to complete a hole. With tee times every 7 minutes we could not complete 18. Price is good for 18 holes. By comparison for $3 less you can play 9 holes at Lane Cove and about the same cost of 9 @ Woollahra golf course. As ever the 3rd hole is very challenging. Teeing off to get up a 30 degree or more incline is difficult for 3 of my 4 ball. One hole under repair meaning we needed to play the practice hole as a replacement. Slow moving and many players on courses does routinely happen, with Northbridge front 9 probably being the worst on a weekend.
Greens in poor condition
The greens were in poor condition: sandy and the grass too long. i did not like the rainbow flag on the tree on the 4th hole or in the clubhouse. Please remove them.
Conditions
Lovely bar and club house but condition of course was worst I have ever played. Greens were atrocious and impossible to putt on.
Below Average
Layout and length of the course is fun for beginner golfers, but condition of the course (specifically greens) is not playable for anyone above beginner.
