Palmer Colonial Golf Course

Golf course in good condition. Immaculate fairways and tee off areas. Greens a little bumpy with different grass types. Bunkers not raked so very firm and compacted. Overall enjoyed the course and would be happy to play again even in same conditions. It is a great test of golfing ability. Motorised buggies available but no GPS although fairways have distance markers on fairways.

Clubhouse and course facilities need some TLC. Clubhouse doesn’t look like it gets regular cleaning. Carpets throughout are looking very worn and tired. Paint work is peeling on exterior woodwork. Staff don’t seem to have a lot of pride in the club which shows in their attitude to providing a professional service to people using the facilities. Chef went home at 11am because it was not very busy so there was no food or snacks of any kind on offer (not even a sandwich). I don’t think there would have been anything on offer even if the chef was there as there did not seem to be anything prepared for golfers that would have been finishing golf at midday or wanting something before hitting off at midday. Staff didn’t seem to know if there was food available or not and didn’t really seem to care much about it when they did try to find out.

We did have a couple of beers after our golf in the clubhouse but the one bar staff person that was working but not behind the bar very often told us she had to “kick us out” at 4:47pm so we finished our drinks and left.

If you are considering playing this course I would suggest taking a packed lunch with you from home as I don’t think you could expect to purchase any food from the clubhouse.

For the same price as what you'd pay at Brookwater Golf Club, this course is shocking. The greens have huge sections of dirt and missing greens, some bunkers are literally gravel rocks, and the facilities look like they have been un-touched for years. I seriously think this place has been abandoned, with only a staff member taking payment in the pro shop. No sign of life anywhere else. The trashed golf cart just added to the whole thing.

Way over priced, you can see it was once a fantastic course, however it is not maintained, everything overgrown, the fairways are not mown regularly leaving huge clumps of grass all over the fairways. There are no signs on the course to direct you where to go for the next T they give you a map printed out from pro shop which is not great but a few signs around the course would make it so much better. Most of the bunkers didn’t have rakes there was weeds through all the fairways there was weeds through all the greens.. the golf carts are old marked and would be retired from most public golf courses around. There is no GPS or any thing in the carts.

You can easily see it was once a fantastic golf course and the layout and all the bones are still there but it is so poorlymaintained that it should not be charging the premium rate that it does and should be probably half the cost at half the cost you wouldn’t you would expect it to be maintained in the way that it is but this is one of the worst maintained golf courses of ever playedon it is slightly better than Palmer Kulu, which is another course we will never play another Palmer course anything that’s owned by Clive Palmer we will not play it again because they’rejust not maintained. He obviously does not spend any money on keeping these courses in the conditioner they should be kept..

Considering the amount of rain in the past few days, the greens were in excellent condition.

I used to be a member here many years ago when old Clive first purchased it, back then it wasn’t too shabby but I guess after probably 10 years of not spending any money it’s absolutely gone to crap and the price does not reflect it.

$110 to walk a course that hasn’t even been mowed and theres trees down and sticks and rubbish everywhere adjacent to like every hole, finding balls around that crap can be painful.

Also $110 to walk 😂 this is a fun layout that has been absolutely ruined

The course is well designed with great potential. Bunkers are in good spots, hazards are fun to navigate, it just hasn't had love for many years. People running the show in the clubhouse appear to know nothing about golf. Facilities are poor.

Fairways were in reasonably good condition, rough was okay, greens were average.

This review is based on reviewing a premium course at a premium price point.

Could be such a nice course, fair ways and lay out great. Greens and fringes not great at all. Charge top rates for GC for not a champ course

Not sure what happened here, but the maintenance has gone, and the grounds were poor. Fairways good.

This parcourse can put the golfers who want to be challenged into the center of the challenge.

Can be very unpredictable.

I have improved since the last time I played this parcourse and yet I was challenged again.

This course is a great layout with very friendly knowledgeable staff. Personally this course is very over priced and could do with a bit of maintenance.

We played at this course many times a while ago and it was well maintained then.

We were expecting the similar conditions but was very disappointed with the green. The ball constantly bounced while rolling causing extreme stress.

Such a shame the owners of this golf course don't care. It's obvious how poorly staffed this facility is.

No disrespect to the few people that work here, but the course needs more employees.

Green keepers are this properties first priority.

The location and course layout is terrific, the condition of the course is terrible.

The pro-shop looks like it's just been demolished and awaiting refurbishment.
