Lots of water but poor facilities
The fairways and greens were good. You need to be straight as there is a lot of lateral water hazards. The club house and facilities need an update. The directions to the holes are mostly missing. You have to guess where you go next. The driving range was the worse I’ve seen. The balls were straight out of the water hazards. Worth playing for the golf but wouldn’t rush back.
Overall condition greens fairways great but very wet in a number of areas Rough and lagoons etc very untidy dirty need more attention
Pretty Rough
The course needs a lot of work. The fairways were well kept and the greens were nice. Bunkers could use some love. But it was the fact your paying upwards of 90 bucks before a cart. The halfway house isn't even open not a drink or food cart. Just for the price your paying standards should be quite a bit higher. If they want people to keep coming at least lower the price if the rest of it is going to be terrible. Probably won't come back.
Needs work to stay relevant
The course was very underdone for somewhere they ask for $100 per round - at least 6 bunkers were empty and "GUR" and there were drainage issues on o2 or 3 wholes which left the front of the greens a mud pit. Needs some work
Nice course but a bit rough
The course is nice but some of the greens where patchy, and old holes where easily visible.
It has been a while since I have played this course and was shocked at the poor standard of the course. The fairways were in tremendous order but the rest of the course the clubhouse the buggies everything else was extremely disappointing. For $100 I will not be going back to this course. Bunkers were terrible half of them are gur. It’s almost criminal to charge this price for second rate facilities. It was Sunday afternoon we couldn’t even get a beer on tap after play. If Clive is going to close this course then just do it, put it out of its misery.
Don't Play Until the Greens Have Been Finished
Played here on the weekend and was unaware that all the greens were under maintenance.
The greens were unplayable and there should have been a significant discount to play.
The course is very run down and neglected which is very sad.
I would not play here again unfortunately.
A shame to see such a great course in dlsuch disrepair.
I was a member of the Coloniql for a few years over a decade ago - it was maintained to a meticulous standard back in those days before it changed hands. It's incredibly disappointing to see the course in such a state - large clumps of weeds on the fairways, lines of clippings also left on the fairways, a third of the bunkers in repair or in poor condition.
The day we played the greens had also been cored the week before but there wasn't any notification about that when I booked and the course was still charging full price. The staff were all friendly and I doubt they have any contop over the matter but it's so disappointing to see this course in the state that it's currently in.
Course in bad condition
Course overall in a really poor condition. Tee boxes full of weeds. Greens were poor. Rough of the fairways extremely long. Every bunker was like hitting off hard clay.
For $100 a round you’d expect so much better. Maybe they should get some tips from the green keepers at the glades. That’s where I’ll be spending $100 on my next round.
A day in the life of a Colonial
It was great to play a round of golf with my young son. The course was fair but firm. Obviously feeling the effects of a super dry patch this spring. Believing for a bucketing of rain in the coming week. This would spruce up the fairways well. In the main the fairways are holding up well. The course is always a test for the right of Centre hitter. The water can be in play as a consequence. The pace of play assisted by two groups of four in front of us who allowed us to play through. Very well worth a visit. Well done Simon and your team.
Nice course
Nice course, but at 99 a round with cart, it’s not good value for money.
Course is in a sad state
What was once a great course is now a run-down, overpriced, poor excuse for a championship course. $99 for a round is robbery, the place is a joke. Literally every other course on the coast is in better condition and is better value for money. This place needs new management, ownership and a serious cash injection to get back to somewhere near where it was 10 years ago.
