Not worth the money
Have been here before and conditions were good, the last few times I’ve been here now the course conditions have been well under what you’d expect for $100+ round of golf. Unfinished greens with sand all around, dirt/mud in the middle of a couple fairways and there hasn’t been any rain for over a week
Great layout
What a joy in brilliant weather ( a little chilly to start) it was to walk and play this course. The layout is very good and challenging for my son and I without being over the top.
Some clean up still going on after the cyclone in March with a number of downed trees and cut up timber around the course (didn't affect the round) . In fact despite the number of trees that were blown down i seem to still hit my share! The ground was wet/ muddy in patches and despite signs every where re carts on paths only, there was plenty of evidence of golfers having some difficulty understanding those directions.
All in all a great day with my son.
Green surrounds in terrible condition
Strongly believe the green fees should have been discounted given the green side skirting was non existent and damage to most cups on greens. Lovely staff but no this course isn’t worth $89.50 walking, should be at most $60. Shame the facilities aren’t being used and not super busy, I’d say it’s from the price point being so high in comparison to other courses in proximity.
Great value
Fantastic layout for a championship course when fully maintained. Challenging with some very picturesque holes, recommended for all abilities. Carts are a must, and great value. Would play again.
Terrible condition course
No maintenance done for what looks like months.
Almost unplayable.
Run down golf course. Avoid.
This former excellent golf course is a shadow of its former self. Almost completely run down.
Poor drainage causing soggy conditions. Uneven, damaged cart paths. Golf carts that have seen better days especially brakes. Certainly not worth $99 compared to other options nearby.
After Cyclone
I liked that the cart didn't have any restrictions of where to drive. Course in average condition after cyclone, about 80 large trees down. Cup damage on most holes. Outside 2 m of most greens had been trimmed to sand. Bunkers unplayable from cyclone.
Could have told us
The course was severely impacted by the recent cyclone Alfred. There were many large gum trees still lying across the fairways, 8 days after the cyclone. They had started the clean up but there is a long way to go.
We managed to play the course however they should have told us at booking, and the course was not worth paying full price.
Needs urgent attention
Have been playing this course since the early 90s
Great layout, however the course is in need of urgent maintenance.
If some time, manpower and money was spent on the course it could become a lovely and enjoyable course to play.
It's a shame.
Wonderful layout but needs maintenance
What an awesome this could be if the owner took care of it and put money towards its upkeep and maintenance. It has a wonderful layout and is a mature course. It is a 5 star course if only the upkeep was better. A shame that the owner is not taking care of such a gem. It is still an excellent value and I would recommend it.
Poor condition
Course is run down. Cart paths are like dodge the holes and 4wd Needed. Bunkers have no sand. Greens were sanded but when booked on golf now and paid up front the site did not say prior to paying. Staff were friendly
Better courses on the GC
Palmer Gold Coast needs work. The icon that was Robina Woods is no longer there. Entering the vacant pro shop with little to no stock to hitting it into more than one sandless bunker, this place needs work. It’s obvious they’re doing work on the bunkers but we weren’t told that before teeing off. Some absolute cracking holes but it’s another Palmer course where he clearly saves his money on upkeep and does the bare minimum. I’d love to see this place improve as it has all the bones of a very good golf course but condition needs some serious work.
Great course, tough front nine and would definitely play it different next time….
Emily the steward was great, insightful and a great host…
Food was great value for money
Will come back for sure
World class layout
The course is still holding onto past glory. The greens have been made smaller and the rough are can need a tidy up inbolaces but overall the course is still a great layout and one of my favourites on the Gold Coast.
Very slow
Played here on Sunday. I must have been unfortunate as a group of 16 tee’d off just before me. Which took forever as they were all taking their time. (10 min wait times on tee)
I eventually played through them on the 14th, then the next group in front were playing shirtless, shoeless sharing clubs. I’d had enough at this point.
I didn’t even bother with the last 4 holes and went in, and felt I’d wasted $99.50
Staff informed me they were unstaffed but doing the best they could. Not their fault,
Unlikely I’ll be back which is unfortunate
