Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

Tough place to play.

Front nine took 3 hours & 50 minutes because they over book the course. Course conditions were not good at all. Greens are patchy. They need to turn on the water. The whole course dried out.

Nice course for the money but be prepared for slow play

This course does a good job of pairing groups into 4 however the pace of play is not great. If you’re trying to crank 18 in under 4 hours this isn’t your course. Coming from Indiana in the month of April I was in no rush since I was on vacation. Course is challenging enough for all types of golfers. Currently 15 handicap and parred 3 holes. Plenty of sand and water. Fairways were in good condition along with tee boxes. Back 9 had some nice views. A couple of the greens could have used some tlc but overall good course.

Almost forgot only seen the cart girl twice which was really disappointing didn’t see her for the first time til hole 8.

Ranger was abrupt and rude.

Course is in decent shape for a FLA golf course. Worn out in many areas, especially greens. No starter and the ranger was abrupt and not at all friendly when referring to pace of play. Try a nice greeting, a little courtesy then ease into rules. You’re not a traffic cop who’s having a bad day!

Very slow, Played on a Sunday afternoon. Tee’d off at 2:15 and tried to make the turn at 4:45 to find that there were 3 groups waiting to tee off on 10. Started driving to the parking lot to leave and saw the from nine looked wide open. We went in the pro shop and they let us tee off on the front to play the front again. We made it 4 holes until it got backed up again. We went back and played a par 3 again to kill some time and still couldn’t tee off when we got to the tee box on the next hole. We left after that
