About
Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

One of my favorites..
In my opinion this course is one of the nicest in the area. It is a challenging course but fun to play. The only downfall is that the bunkers are in bad condition. By “bad condition” I mean almost unplayable. Other then that I love the course. I played an early round and we were done in 4 hours. I would definitely recommend it! Also they have a range with mats which serves the purpose but heads up, its CLOSED ON THURSDAY MORNINGS. Enjoy!
Highly recommend
I was finally able to get on Berkshire after trying for weeks and it was a heck of a course. You can’t beat the the views and the course was in perfect condition. The first 4-5 holes are extremely tight but once it opens up its a lot more friendly to bogey golfers like myself. Bring a few extra sleeves as there’s no chance at finding mis-hits.
Bring your A game.
Tight, shot makers course., tough green complexes, stay below the whole. Will definitely be back.
Awesome day at Berkshire
Had a 2pm time so we were 1st group out after an outing finished up.so basically no one in front of Us. Course in great shape, greens were running fast we finished in 4 hrs. Staff is great there was best experience ever at Berkshire.
Home course and i love this layout
must play course...... enjoy the views while you try to keep your ball in play on the first 5 holes!.....staff is also great!
Slow play
Course was in great shape. Greens a little slow but well maintained. Should not take 5 hours to play a round with a cart and without cart path only rules.
Glad I went
Glad I went I played this course 12 years ago and never went back in till today. The course was in great shape the staff couldn’t be any more pleasant I will definitely be back more than once. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to have a challenge and see beautiful scenery

A little pricey, but great course.
First time playing this course. Weather was perfect. Starter was great and staff was very friendly! Course was a little wet, but it rained the night before so that was to be expected. The course played great and the greens were in great shape! Cart path only and no bunker rule was in play. The pace was great (4 1/2 hour pace) and I never really had to wait on the group before us. The course is challenging. Great county course and definitely recommend. The only complaint is the price, but you get what you pay for and this was worth it. Definitely will go back.
Beautiful Course - Great customer service
Loved this course - excellent shape!!!!! Challenging..... cart path only today and I had a really hard time going up and down hills from cart path. Aside from that - no complaints!!!!! 10/10!!!!!
