Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Wet but worth it

It rained on the front, stopped on back after raining two days prior, wet but playable, looking forward to playing again, friendly staff, would love to play again when not raining, great layout

Great Course Near NYC

Probably one of my favorite courses in and around NYC. I like to play this place 2x per year as it is a very challenging course to score well with so much pressure on your tee shot execution. One of the best finishing holes in the area and a overall Northern NJ gem.

One of my favorites..

In my opinion this course is one of the nicest in the area. It is a challenging course but fun to play. The only downfall is that the bunkers are in bad condition. By “bad condition” I mean almost unplayable. Other then that I love the course. I played an early round and we were done in 4 hours. I would definitely recommend it! Also they have a range with mats which serves the purpose but heads up, its CLOSED ON THURSDAY MORNINGS. Enjoy!

Highly recommend

I was finally able to get on Berkshire after trying for weeks and it was a heck of a course. You can’t beat the the views and the course was in perfect condition. The first 4-5 holes are extremely tight but once it opens up its a lot more friendly to bogey golfers like myself. Bring a few extra sleeves as there’s no chance at finding mis-hits.

Awesome day at Berkshire

Had a 2pm time so we were 1st group out after an outing finished up.so basically no one in front of Us. Course in great shape, greens were running fast we finished in 4 hrs. Staff is great there was best experience ever at Berkshire.
