Really nice course
Long course and its challenging.
Plenty of rough trouble if if you are a foot outside of the fairway. The rough was deep and tough grass to hit out of.
Outside of the rough is tall golden links style grass which I found once and it was knee high.
I really like this course, it was well kept and I like the way it was laid out.
The layout prioritizes a good T-shot, strategic challenges, plenty of hills, elevated greens, water and diverse shot requirements for golfers.
Hilly and wide. Tees fairways and greens in nice shape...but no sand in traps only dirt and rocks
A nice track with different looks but absolutely NO sand in traps, only dirt and rocks! Disappointing
Nice track, interesting layout
Played the course in May, 2025. There are 5 par 3's and 3 par 5's. Overall the course was in good condition for early in the season. A couple of tee boxes were pretty banged up. I thought my main complaint were the conditions of the sand traps around the greens. Many had very to little no sand where prior puddles had formed. And when there appeared to be sand, the ground was rock hard and difficult to get your club under the ball. Outside of that, we had an enjoyable experience - with a challenging round for the mid-handicapper with various levels of terrain and several nice vistas. Look on Golf Now app for specials.
10 out of 10
Let me be clear, this is one of the best public courses in NJ maybe in the United States. Its on par with Neshanic and Heron Glen. Without a doubt you NEED to make this a stop on your NJ golf schedule. Professional staff amazing course vistas to die for, not sure what more there is in a public course.
HBH is a solid B course
It's a solid place to play. No WOW factor regarding layout nor conditions. It's still early in year so expect it to get better, fairways and greens. Some really nice holes, some really okay holes and some really bad holes. The par 3 #6 is too short and then to have another shorty at #12. I don't like #16, fairway to elevated for tee box and too bad they made #17 a par 4 when it used to be a par #5. I think #18 is a great closing hole to round out generally a nice track to play.
what a day to have a day
It was a nice sunny day with high winds. When we played the greens were still sandy but id like to come back and play this course again because i enjoyed the views and they have nice fairways, driving range, bar. There are a decent amount of blind shots but they are not too hard to decipher. Overall beautiful course and I will be back out there soon
Not enough carts
Paid for a solo 18 with cart and had to ride with a pair. Worked out well, but it would be nice to get what you paid for. Would recommend checking with clubhouse before.
Solid Track
Enjoyable course with a lot of interesting and memorable Holes
Great time, cool layout
Course was in great condition for Mid-November. Staff was awesome and we were the second group of the day and finished in 3:15. Greens were in amazing shape!
Hidden Gem
Can't beat this track. Great layout, challenging holes, greens are very nice and pace of play is fantastic. Nice little bar at the clubhouse, driving range is adequate and fairways are long if need be. Would highly recommend
