About
White Oaks Country Club is carved from the mature pinelands of Newfield in south Jersey. Towering oak trees frame the golf course, separating each hole and giving each one a secluded feel. There are several challenges in store on this layout including massive strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, but it is also forgiving enough to accommodate beginners. The golf course does not have just one hole that it considers its signature but in fact, multiple holes. There is the par-5 seventh which stretches to a monstrous 621 yards and the par-4 ninth features a tricky second shot over water to a double green. These two challenging holes take advantage of the landscape's natural contours. The 17th is yet another signature hole, it has been voted the "toughest par 3 in South Jersey."

Beautiful course, well maintained, friendly atmosphere. All in all a great experience for my son and I.

Badly maintained
I lost several balls even though I hit middle of fairways because leafy are all oevr fairways and some of greens too.

Less then pleased.
Shouldn’t have to take more then 5 min on every fairway looking tor my ball. Course is covered in leaves. Lost a dozen balls. Majority of them on fairways. Please clean up the leaves.

Clean it up
I mean if they just blow the leaves towards the woods and make 1 -2 collection areas with temporary fencing it will go along way. It’s a shame cause it’s a nice layout but the pace of play mostly due to the leaves is killing it. The leaves also aren’t really allowing those fairways to heal properly, they definitely put in work since last time I was there but the lack of equipment and or personnel is hurting them. No way I should hit a fairway and lose a ball in the leaves 2ft off the fairway and or have to clear off every other green before putting. Invest in better blowers or something!

Good bang for the Buck
I’ll start off with the positives. The price was very good and the greens were in great shape the weather was also excellent that day..
Now, for some of the negatives, the worst part of the round was the amount of leaves throughout every hole. Also, some of the tea boxes were pretty well chewed up and a lot of the fairways were bald spots and also. Some of the roughs were very deep six maybe 8 inches high.
The course was also a 45 minute drive from where I live that doesn’t help matters.
I might add that it looks like they are beginning to straighten many of these problems out. It was also like when our golf there. I hope to be back there once they have straightened out some of these problems.

Course conditions
I felt although the course had the potential to be a top course, the upkeep was below average, as there was too many leaves that should have been removed, and other areas on the course were wet despite it being a beautiful and dry day.

Typical late season golf
Greens were good, fairways were decent and recovering, sand traps weren’t sand traps! Trees are letting go leafs are on the ground, bring your fall balls. Crews seen working on the course. Pace of play was great in front of our group…not so much behind us! GN “Hot Deal “ price $28 was a deal.

Greens in good shape, fairways need some work. Tap room not open after our round. Not sure why. A lot of leaves especially on the greens. They need more help.

Great course
Great course was there one time will come back love to see more discounted rates did not use off course amenities just been golfing for one year and I am very handicapped with heart desease kidney failure and diabetes so don’t like to be rushed because of better players did not have that happen when we were golfing so will come back to enjoy

Improving
Up until a few years ago I was a weekly player and associate member. Then the prior owner put his own profit over customer needs and concerns. New owners came in after the prior owner neglected the course. They have a way to go to bring this course back to its heyday but clearly you can see they are working on it. Traps are no longer ponds of stagnant water (you’d swear fish were in there); the fairways are coming back; as usual here, the greens are fast. The new grounds superintendent has his work cut out for him with poor irrigation but you can see the course is slowly coming back. Pace of play has always been an issue as sometimes they jam people onto the course but there also no rangers to push pace of play which should be a top priority but isn’t.
The.bar/restaurant has always been excellent.

Needs work
Green ok fairway crabgrass I no the course but her no marker no 150 or hundred yard markers no regime The value pretty good for the money it’s a shame has a great layout I really love the course just need a lot of work in the sand bunkers Terrible
