Mercer Oaks West
Frost delay caused a slow start. Staff was engaging, friendly, and helpful. Course conditions were great. Beautiful fall weather was the highlight of an enjoyable round.
Great public golf course
Great price thanks to Golf now.

One of the best public golf courses in the state.
Enjoyed the compqny of the group.
One of those days everything was good except my game.
Nice Course Traps and Greens Need Work
Overall the course was in good shape. The traps need more sand, there were a lot of rocks and packed clay/dirt. The greens were pretty bumpy too.
Why did they let this great golf course go to pot
I’ve played this course many times over the years. The conditions now are simply awful: slow, bumpy greens; little to no sand and uneven conditions in the bunkers; raggedy mowing around bunkers and hazards; and crab grass seemingly everywhere. Truly a shame. They played the State Amateur here just a few years ago and the course was pristine, but the conditions have really deteriorated. Many more public courses nearby (many Somerset and Monmouth County options come to mind) that are in much, much better shape and much better experiences overall. And to make matters worse, the group in front of us took 2:25 to play the front 9. Brutal.
Only 1 issue on Mercer West
Pace of play is excellant. Tees, fairways and greens are in great shape. Only 1 issue...the bunkers on this course are in horrible shape. Most do not have any sand. It doesn't appear that the bunkers have been worked on this year. Most still have water from the recent rains.
Please roll the greens
Overall the course was in good condition, though several of the tee boxes were beaten up. My biggest gripe was the speed speed of the greens, they were very slow, it seemed like you needed to “club up” on every putt. Please put drinking water back on the course, I believe that COVID-19 restriction was lifted last month.
Still solid
First time playing West this year.

A third joined us, and he walked. Still we had to wait often for a slow 4 some in front of us.
Great Public Course
Course was in fabulous shape. Pace of play was also great. Would definitely play here again soon.
