Mercer Oaks Golf Course - West Course

Nice course. Pace of play was good . The layout isn’t great as far uniqueness but I enjoyed playing it

Pretty much hit the ball. I had a good round 80 so I guess because I played so well , I didn’t find it so challenging. Most courses if you hit the ball well, you score well & the challenge is less

Overall , I had a wonderful time & I would definitely go back

Greens were slow, bumpy and uncut. Rough had a lot of crab grass. Nice layout though. Pace of play was good and was paired with 3 good golfers who were very friendly. The weather was perfect. I like the East course a little bit better than the West.

The course is well kept it but due to heavy rains the night before Cart path was mandatory & there were many wet spots on the fairway

When the course dries out , I imagine I could rate it higher. Nevertheless , it v was an enjoyable sunny day and I hope to return in the future

Haven't played here since late June, the course was in horrible condition. I realize the hot wet humid weather in July was a big cause. The greens were extremely slow, like putting on shag carpet.

I have been playing this course since it opened and don't get tire of playing it.

I have been a member and playing all the county courses for years. When Our group first started playing at Mercer Oaks the course was well maintained and in pristine condition. However, I must say over the past 4 to 5 years it has deteriorated to the point many are considering moving to other courses. One example are the condition of the bunkers. Some time ago they were all re-done and in great shape. However they were never maintained and were allowed to deteriorate to the point they are unplayable. Around many of the greens, the grass is left in manicured where there are dead areas and or weeds.

We used to be very proud to promote our “home course” to others but this is not the case today. I’m sure if you survey many of the other members they will tell you the same.

First off they aerated the greens which is not a problem. It’s something that has to be done. The problem is they did not offer a reduced rate and the sand on the green was in clumps all over. They didn’t even try to blow the excess sand off. Again I know with aerated greens there is going to be sand, but it should be clumpy all over the green. The fairways are atrocious. They have bald spots all over them. This is the 3rd year in a row that the course has gotten away from them. It’s like the grounds crew doesn’t care. I can go over the bridge to pa and their courses are magnificent.

I have played the west many time used to be a great course. Greens were aerated and had heavy amounts of sand. The fairways had bare patches, burnt patches and a lot of weeds. The grass driving range has been closed for weeks. Extremely slow pace of play. Left after 9 holes cause we would have had to bring cart back around 15th hole due to darkness. Normal pace we would have made it in time. Kitchen closed at 6pm so we couldn't get a sandwich. when I ask if kitchen would be open was told yes. This is 2nd year in a row the west course has been not properly cared for. Won't be back this year. They need to take better care of this course it's to nice to let it get run down.

The greens were recently aerated so they were 2 putt greens. Some greens had clumps of sand so they could have been better smoothed over.

Worst time to air raid the greens and the fairways are totally horrible right now, and how can you close the kitchen at 6pm??? So dumb, never playing here again

No warning that greens had been aerated & sanded. Almost impossible to putt on. Ive played this course many times. It has always been a favourite of mine with the layout & variety & character of holes but within the last few months conditions have steadily deteriorated. Greens are inonsistent. Fairways are horrendous with numerous bare patches & weeds throughout leaving you with nearly unplayable lies. Course needs a tremendous amount of tlc to get it back to its former glory. Im hoping so because its too good a track to let go.

Despite cart path only due to previous nights rain, the course was groomed and playable.

Challenging from Blue to Black Tees. Fairways somewhat worn at heart of summer, but did not effect play. Excellent finishing holes 15-18
