A fair challenge
MO West has a nice layout for a public course. I haven’t been there in years but was happy to be back.

Nice course
I like the west course because there are lots of trees and we needed shade. Course in remarkably good shape considering the high heat. Greens in nice shape, not too fast. Too bad players don’t fix their hallmarks. Fairways good. Sand traps not to fluffy

Due to weather
Clearly due to COVID and weather conditions the course hasn’t been in the best upkeep. It’s a course that from the tips can offer PGA appeal and play. I have played the course many times but today’s the fairways were burnt and drowned out and the greens were like a shag carpet. I love the layout, anytime you have a course rated at a 74.5 and sloped at a 140, it’s gonna be awesome, just wish it was taken care of better

Lovely as always but slow pace of play
Always love the county courses, but we got stuck behind the slowest foursome. We were just two, but still the amount of time we waited to hit became ridiculous. Kind of wish a marshal could have told them to either speed it up or let us play through.

Fun course
Good, solid course. Very enjoyable. Somewhat challenging without being a bear. I simply don't understand why they don' have water stations on the course in this hot weather, especially when public courses in Hunterdon County have them available.

Burned out parts of greens, much crabgrass - seems like it's getting away from the greens staff.

A good walking course...
I am a Mercer county resident and play this course quite a bit. I is a good classic golf course with tree lined holes and small to medium sized greens. There are two holes where water really come into play, which adds the the challenge. It is a good course to walk as it it fairly flat. The conditions on the day I played were pretty good, the greens were in good shape and the fairways were still green in most places despite all the dry weather recently. If you haven't tried it I would recommend giving it a try as well as all the other Mercer County courses, they're all pretty good.
