Mercer Oaks Golf Course - West Course

Second time I played this course. Worth the trip and money.

I used to play this course twice a week when I was in county, but haven't played it in a while. Got a good deal on golfnow for cheaper than county residents would pay. Course was in great shape for the most part. I will be looking for deals on this course and the east course in the future.

Great course to play for the blacks not much trouble on the course other then a few water holes. Will definitely play again

A real nice layout that is very challenging from the blue tees. There are a couple of tight driving holes but for the most part the tee game is pretty open. the sixth and seventh holes are back to back beasts playing par 4 of 450 and par 5 at 560 on our day of play. Course conditions were very good for early May. The tee boxes and fairways were very thick while the rough was a bit thin in spots. the greens were in good shape for the most part but a few were suffering from winter kill. They rolled good but were a bit on the slow side. The bunkers were all raked with ample sand. All in all a very good golf complex with two fine courses that are a good value and a good practice facility. I only give it four stars because I researve five for the truly supurb course, Beth Page Black for example. I wouldn't put it at that level but I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could.

Great facility and course is kept in good condition, especially for a county course. The holes are pretty straight forward with a couple of nice ones out if the 18. Rangers are irretible and the pace of play on the weekend is horribly slow. The kind of slow where you stand over your ball for 5+ mins on every shot and feel extra pressure to make a good swing because everyone is backed up watching you. Worth $45, but nowhere near worth the $75 they want to charge.

Course was in good shape when I played it early May. Greens were in very good shape. From the whites this is not that challenging for me personally. If you like to use your driver play from the blues.

Course fescue was not grown in yet , very forgiving off the tee. Nice layout

I was very impressed with course conditions. Course plays long and is challenging.

By far the friendliest staff of all the county courses I have played thus far; they were genuinely nice and accommodating. The course itself was beautifully manicured almost as if I was at a private country club. I found the course to be moderately challenging especially the 9th and 18th holes which involve some tricky shots over water. If I didn't have to work that day I would have played 36 holes. The other beauty of this course is you can play either east or west.

It really feels special playing at a course like this. Perfect conditions, tees, fairways, bunkers and greens. Can't find a bad thing to say about this Facility. Worth the drive to play either of the courses at Mercer Oaks.

a great course, a great challenge from the blues, water & bunkers were to be found everywhere. Slightly slow pace of play, ranger didn't seem to want to rush anything. Word to the wise: try to go on the least Windiest day.

Fits in well for average to intermediate levels of golfers.

Excellent course and pace was great - 4 hour round.
Staff was excellent.

The courses at Mercer Oaks are heavily used and always in above average shape.

Good shape and a good price. Would recommend and will play again.

I have played this corse about 15 times. This was by far my worst experience. I did not realize (nor was told) that there was a huge golf outing on the other corse. All of the staff's energy was put towards the outing. The greens and fairways were in great shape but the sand traps were the worst I have ever seen there. When you have to pay $45 on a week day , I expect everything to be perfect and this was far from it. I think you should be told before that there is a golf outing.

This course is not overly difficult little to no water lots and lots of fairway bunkers. One suggestion I have would be put more than one rake in these oversized bunkers. All in all I like this course can't wait to play again.

Low score because of the unfriendliness of the staff and borderline rude behavior. Water coolers on the course had molds in the spouts!

I liked the course however for the price and attitude, wont go there again.

Dont recall the exact date i played there, however must have played atleast 3-4 times before giving up on it!
