Buffalo Tournament Club

This course has a very good layout, but the conditioning is VERY bad for what they charge! Every year I think it will get better, but the conditioning is the same. Weeds in fairways and on some greens! I think in the last few years all their money went to their slowly built clubhouse. If you are not going to properly maintain the course, DONT charge the same as properly maintained and Better courses! Golfers are FOOLISH to play here. For the same price you can play much better and well maintained courses in WNY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greens are huge and well maintained. Fairways well groomed too. Challenging length, decent sight lines except for a few holes. Needs much better signage and distance markers. Cart paths need development. Forcing golfers to walk down a hill to driving range is ridiculous!! Same thing with controlling carts out of the parking lot. Really inconvenient. And the cart they gave us was filthy, and so were all the rest waiting in the so-called ready line. I would go back and play the course again. I would just like to see better investment and cleanliness there.

I played this course once before about 10 years ago in November on an unseasonably warm day so as one would expect, it was hard to judge the course that day. I played the course this time on a beautiful summer day and my rating is based on this day.

The check-in procedure was quick. When I inquired about getting balls for the driving range, I was informed that they were out of balls. I looked over at the driving range and saw 1000 of balls laying there in the field. All I could think was, why doesn’t one of you two go out there and shag them. For me, there isn’t much worse than playing a round of golf without first hitting a few balls to warm up.

There was no starter, so I took it upon myself to decide when to start my round as there was no one waiting ahead of me.

The the speed of play was good as again, even though I was a single, there was no one holding me up. There was a twosome ahead of me that let me pay through on hole number 11.

As for the course conditions, they weren’t ideal! It has been a dry season this summer, but I question whether this course has any irrigation at all.

The sand traps looked like they had never been raked, and there were rocks in them the size of silver dollars. I’m not referring to one or two rocks, but a bucket full.

I’m not a fan of blind tee shots, but this course layout has several of them.

The halfway house was closed.

The cost of the round of golf was very reasonable, but with the combination of an uncaring staff, not great conditions, and a course, layout that I didn’t care for, I won’t be returning.

Great course. The reviews seem to be bias towards poor, but we thought it was great. Greens were pure. Well designed. Forgiving but still a challenge. We’ll be back.

Some reviews talk about a tree that is laying on the cart path and a couple ruts in the fairways, and they are not wrong but stuff like that is not what makes a course good. BTC last a great layout and is forgiving off the tee with large greens that are in pretty good shape.

Parking lot is located on lower level and carts aren't allowed. The driving range is also on the lower level and inaccessible to carts. The cart paths aren't paved. The course is in terrible condition with ruts and deep holes measuring feet across in the fairways. Tree limbs cut and laying on the course. Halfway house hasn't been opened in years. If you want coffee in the morning too bad. The restaurant doesn't open until 11:00. Even the restrooms were unavailable. The sand traps are gravel pits.Pull your ball out so you don't damage your clubs. Many of the fairways are roped to carts for no apparent reason.

Many courses I’ve been to allow my wife to ride with me in the cart. This course would not allow it without paying a full green fee despite she is not golfing. She is just riding in the cart. A cart I ALREADY PAID FOR! Whether or not that seat is taken in the cart should not matter to them. This course is only worth playing with a hot deal anyway. Mediocre course and this dumb rule put it over the top that I don’t like this course.

We started off played the first nine made the turn and there was a leak going off the starter said we could not go until the league ended about an hour and a half to two hours. He said they were going off both teas. He said that was unacceptable. He just said too bad nice talking to you. They would not give us a refund. Fortunately, golf now did never again.

I play Buffalo tournament club because of the early tee time availability and large greens are usually in decent shape. That's about it. It has a nice lay out and potential to be nice but Other than that, not much more to say about the actual course itself. Ownership does not put any money into the actual management of the course, the conditions are evident. It seems that for years it has been the punching bag for a lot of very recreational golfers that just beat the crap out of it, I guess as long as they are filling up the 8 minute apart tee times there is no reason for investing in the course. Be prepared to spend at least five to six hours out there if you book a tee time after 8:30 a.m.

While I enjoy playing this course, it always takes far too long to play as they book too many golfers. Otherwise it is pretty good and has some fun holes.

Almost all leaves blown off the course so no "fairway lost balls" and the course, especially the greens were in excellent shape for NOV
