Douglaston Golf
The course is in great shape, though the cart paths need some attention as does some of the tee boxes. They are about to re-seed, so guessing that will be addressed. I play there a lot and find it a great course for an intermediate player.
If you’re nearby it’s a nice round
Look, the course needs some maintenance. I’d walk it if you can. The cart paths are bone rattling.
But the bones of the place are good. The layout is pretty good and fun. I wish it had more tlc and better funding to make it a gem. But like so many things in NYC, it’s a day late and a dollar short.
Worth a visit when passing through
This is a great course in its bones. I say in its bones because it feels like its had 60+ years of neglect and myopic management by the city that the operating partner has to make things work on a shoestring. But the bones of this place make for a great round of golf. I will keep coming back and enjoying a great course. I am hopeful that they repair some of the tee boxes and cart paths (REALLY deep potholes) and perhaps move to electric carting. It is overall a great facility the city doesn't properly fund. Should be sold to make it the great course it could be.
Fun course
It is a shorter course. What make this course fun is there are lots of elevation changes. Dog legs and opsticals. There happens to be be three par threes in a row on the back nine cause they sold of some lands year ago. But I find this course a lot of fun and i play as a single and always play with great people. I would definitely recommend this course for the average golfer.
Nice Course
Great challenging public course in very good shape. Two tee boxes had no grass and in one I slipped. Still that is not the reason for my shooting 92. Fantastic elevated tees and greens and just enough water to challenge you yet not make you mad
Nice Golf course in Queens
My first time playing there but I have to say staff are friendly, fellow golfers are nice and the course is plenty challenging. Can't beat the convenience relative to the city center. I would definitely consider playing there again when in the area.
Rain out
Course is great but unfortunately we only got to finish 6 holes severe thunderstorms came wash us out. I was looking for a refund.
Infestation
There are thousands of hornets on the back half of the course. We are not playing there again.
Course is possibly the best shape ever if you walk.
Course is in great shape.
Cart paths are horrible.
You will bounce like a pinnata.
