The Links At Union Vale

This place was well-worth the 70 minute drive compared to what is available to the public player in Bergen and Rockland counties. The greens were as fast as any private club i have played this year. The course, especially the last 5 holes ( 14-18), is really challenging. You better get off to a good start on the front nine and holes 10-13, because par is hard-earned down the closing stretch.

After the round, a very nice bar area upstairs in the clubhouse with a friendly staff.

the markers from 200, 150, and 100 yards to green were very difficult to find in fairways with most of them covered with grass....

Great starter,carts,greens,free beer with purchase and great food at a reasonable price.Very nice club house and better upstairs at the bar.Great place for a wedding.

The course is in excellent condition. Great layout. Friendly staff. Slow play on the day in question, but in the past I have not had much issue with pace of play. Grade A overall.

Links Unionvale and Centennial are by far the 2 best courses in the area. But also to most expensive. Links is slightly less and has more specials. We were able to book on GolfNow for under $50. The course itself is fantastic. Links style. Very challenging, but also fair. Keeping the ball in the fairway is key to s good round. Accuracy is way more important than length.

Good course, back 9 gets a little lazy though. Front 9 is better. Pace of play was good for a sunday afternoon. Conditions were decent, not great.

The best thing about this course, aside from the layout and the condition, is that you can choose from five sets of tees to find the perfect set for you. I like a course that makes me use all of my clubs, so I played from the #4 tees. The other thing that I like is a course that rewards good shots and penalizes bad shots; Union Vale does just that. Miss the fairway and the first cut of rough and you will pay a steep price; even if you find your ball, moving it forward will be a challenge. The course is over an hour from my home, but every time I go there I think how the course is worth the trip. Enjoy!

This is one of the best values out there, especially during the week. $40 to walk on a weekday afternoon and the conditions are top notch. It is also a very good and challenging layout. The course is a pleasure to walk, but carts and GolfBoards are available. Decent driving range with grass available on the weekends. Two greens for chipping and putting and a bunker. Five sets of tees to choose from. I just wish they didn't fill in the 2nd shot forced carry on the signature 14th hole.

simple: tough course. a few very long carries. Some elevated greens-one sourrounded by huge, steep sand bunkers. you need to follow the winding fairway or else you'll feel lke you've played all day....but i'm a high handicapper..should have played from the gold.

I played as a single. Another time playing I was paired up. I played twilight on a Friday afternoon. Course was open, range was empty and it was exactly what I wanted. It is a difficult course, challenging, it makes you think as you play it out. I played from the #4 tees. Great condition on tee boxes, fairways & greens. Greens are quick. One of better courses available to the general public in the Hudson Valley, if not the best. I have never played a weekend round. It is on the higher end as far as cost on the weekend to my knowledge.
