About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

No shortage of bunkers
Love this course. Maybe could get a break on green fees for a week after greens are aerated but lowering price after 12 is good deal

Outstanding course, staff is great of course. Always love playing there.
GPS can use updating, too close to the cart sign on the fairway the cart goes dead.
Instructions on how to revive the cart would help. Can’t go forward or reverse.

Willow Creek
Nice layout, friendly staff, some short holes for scoring but par 3’s from tips very challenging. Only complaints, rocks in bunkers and people not repairing ball marks.

Pace of Play
Slow play and despite calling the pro shop twice, no ranger came out to speed up play. At times 3 groups stacked up on a tee. Now while we were a two some, we had another two some join is and it was still slow.
For the big increase in their price, I would not expect to see geese dung on many holes and it literally was all over #8. Greens were somewhat soft and people were not repairing ball makes. Hopefully this was the exception.

Greens were terrible
Also. Had won 4 rounds in a previous event for the neca outing last year. The free round expires June 30. 2022
I asked the pro shop could I get these renewed I kind of forgot I had won these. They said no. That’s his right to deny me.
Just bad move from my point of view. I have 4 events here a year. I will seek other arrangements. I play where I am accommodated.

Willow Creek
Not many players on the course which allowed us to finish in 3.5 hours. Nice course. Greens need maintenance since other player don’t repair ball marks. I like the course, but with the steep increase in greens fees, I play when there is a Hot Deal.

tons of bunkers and water
Course played extremely difficult. Target golf.. Deep traps everywhere. Water everywhere. Unless you are an above average golfer I wouldn't recommend to play here.

Course was ok, was expecting better
Let me start by saying this was my first time playing here. I had read great reviews about it being top five public courses in Suffolk county. My playing partner and I were running late and I called pro shop and they were more than accommodating to work with us and push back our tee time if necessary. Layout is fine and course overall was decent. The green were softer and longer (slower) than expected. My main complaint is the bunkers at Willow Creek. They are absolutely horrendous. The amount of rocks in each bunker is absurd. The gentleman we played with struck a gigantic "boulder" under his club while hitting and damaged his club. The $70 for an afternoon round wasn't horrible but was expecting the greens to be rolling better and not have the issue with the bunkers.

Wet
Cart path only due to rain Monday. Plan on walking a lot more on this coarse rain or shine due to where you can drive the golf cart. Don’t advise golfers that have trouble walking to play this golf course.
