Florida Practice
The course was in good shape, pace was slow even for a Sunday. An enjoyable round with some Fl residents

Even with lots of rain and “cart path only” this course was in great shape!! Greens were rolling great. The conditions were excellent and made for an enjoyable round, even with sprinkles on the front nine.
Always friendly staff and they make you feel like a valued customer.

We played the course now for the first time after 2019. The course got allways better in the last years. Perfect tee boxes and greens.

Unfair
3300 = 1-9
2800 = 10-18
Never EVER EVER on a 6000 yard white tee layout, should there be a 210 yard par 3. The maximum distance at that level is 185.
3300 translates to a 6600 yard course. Totally totally unfair to the 6000 yard player.
Course staff pushed us. 300 yards translates to 10 minutes. We caught up on the back because the course played the proper distance for the correct handicapper. Horrible layout.
Conditions just average.

Great condition
This course has great practice area. The greens are in great shape. Challending rough around the greens. This course is wide open for the most part. I would definitely recommend playing this course.

This course was a great value for the overall condition
Greens were aerated one week before we played. Other than that course was in great shape would definitely play here again.

Course update - Good and Bad
Yes I played Wednesday 9/13/23. The greens were terrible. Last week they were great. I mean how many times can we punch the greens?? We need rain!
Amazing, there was evidence that they are finally working on the cart path. It has been inexcusable terrible all over for months! Especially a few spots that were so obvious (water filled, big bumps, etc ) for a long time.
A.couple of the cups weren't even close to being cut right. Way too deep. No excuse for this kind of sloppy unskilled work. And setting the tee makers is really pretty simple. However multiple tees were lined up crooked. Really?
The rough is too penal for a regular course play. This is not the US Open. It needs to be cut shorter.
I love San Carlos and it is beautiful and much improved from years ago. But there's too much focus on just growing grass and not much (or any) on many other things that will improve customer satisfaction and just fun!
