Great value for money this time of year
Pace of play tends to be slower than I prefer, but course in great shape.

WHy pay rangers?
4:45 minute round due to the group of 4 PGA want to be's in front of us. They were in the tree line almost every tee shot and then spent 10 minutes to putt out....eyeing up every put from 3 sides. There was a 2.5 hole gap between them and the next group after 9. Mind you, this course has GPS map/tracker that the rangers can see pace of play. Our cart was telling us that we were 34 minutes behind pace at one point.....ranger never said anything. Can't wait for season to be over.

Spoiled by others
First, I wanted to hit practice balls before the round and when I went to check in I saw a sign saying last bucket at 3:30. I was in line behind a young couple and for some reason the cashier had difficulty processing their transaction and by the time he got it done it was after 330 so I couldn’t hit balls. Turns out the young couple ahead of us in line was also a head of us on the golf course. He was the most disrespectful golfer I have come across in 60 years of golf. Even though he knew we were right behind him for the first three holes, with space open ahead of him, he would hit multiple practice shots on most holes. On the fourth hole he joined with the twosome ahead and continue to hit practice balls despite his playing partners being well ahead of him. This person also chose to play from the back tees, despite his golf ability being sorely lacking. I do believe he intentionally was slow trying to aggravate us. The final straw, a number nine, is that he chose to run over the plastic markers that are placed to the right of the card for a distance of about 15 yards. When we first started having a problem with him, we tried to call every number we could find for San Carlos Park and no one answered or returned our messages. After we were done, we did report our concerns to the guy who is cleaning Clubs and he responded very respectfully and appropriately and said he would follow up. If you like a course with lots of rules, where many of the golfers don’t seem to display proper golf etiquette, and we’re all they seem to care about is getting your money, San Carlos Park is for you

THE HIDDEN GEM
I absolutely lo……like the course a lot. Fair greens fee. Warm up practice area- separate putting and chipping greens. Driving range. 4 hour round. Good staff. Course conditions Very Good. GPS!
Good mix of challenging holes.
Somewhat off the main road and a little hard getting tee times but it’s a hidden gem.

Incredibly SLOW PACE OF PLAY
Great course , fairways and greens in great shape . No ranger to enforce pace of play however every 2 minutes a notification on the GPS “you are 30
Minutes behind”. After 10 holes I was 3.5 hours into the round . Not acceptable in my opinion. I would go back , to Me the course is challenging .

Three lady golfers had a wonderful time at San Carlos yesterday. Great course and a friendly atmosphere. Guys in the Pro shop were particularly helpful.

Nice Course, Too Pricey
This course is nice but just not worth the price paid. It’s the time of year when courses can charge what they want, not what it’s worth.
